I wrote this song a year ago. It is a metaphor based on how we all dwell on the past and think about how we could have done things better, but ultimately we all make mistakes and everyone is just trying their best to make it through life - scribbling instead of maintaining a perfect straight line.

Lyrics:
I wish I knew who I’d be now when I was younger
And I wish I had the courage to take those risks
Cos maybe if I took them
I’d be a stronger man by now
But I have faith, with more time I’ll figure things out
And I wish I had the fortune to be more giving
Not for vanity or ego, just to make things fair
Cos if you weighed it all up
I know I’d be on the lower end
For now honesty is the wealth that I can lend
I’ve been turning back the pages of my life
Trying to make up my mind
What went wrong? What could I have done?
Don’t be too hard on yourself, you’ve had fun
So pick up your pen, everybody's scribblin’ to the end
And if only I were more careful where I tread
Would I be striding towards a dream outside my bed
Instead I’m stuck in my head
For too long it does me no good
Like my mum once said, shoulders back and look ahead
I’ve been turning back the pages of my life
Trying to figure out my mind
What went wrong? What could I have done?
Don’t be too hard on yourself, you’ve had fun
So pick up your pen, everybody's scribblin’ to the end
See, what’s the point of living?
Without searching, for meaning
And what's the point of feeling?
Without pain, without you
(oh) I’ve been turning back the pages of my life
Trying to figure out my mind
What went wrong? What could I have done?
Don’t be so hard on yourself, you’ve had fun
So pick up your pen, everybody's scribblin’ to the end
