Hello. Thanks for the review. If you choose and compare note-taking apps that have strong visual capabilities, Heptabase now offers much better functionality. in addition, there is a very responsive small development team. Updates come out every few days. It would be very interesting to see their review on your KZitem channel.

Great video! Didn't know about Scrintal until now! Quick question: 0:50 how did you make this visual effect?

They should just build an OS like this. If all these features were native and blended into the OS that would be way better. Imagine all your files just natively had all this information and ability to be sorted like this and you could just take notes directly with a file you saved or you could organize the file into a workspace just natively. That should be how MacOS or something operates.

Oh my god. This is genuinely amazing. The limitations with Freeform have been such a block, but this app seems perfect

Scrintal vs Heptabase 💥

Hi Shu, very nice intro/review. You hit on all the major pros & cons. A few comments: 1. You mentioned making to-dos, but you didn't point out that Scrintal doesn't presently have the capability to add checkboxes. 2. Not just Readwise: Scrintal doesn't have ANY integrations, nor has their API been released yet. This is a big drawback for me since I use Readwise and would like to link Scrintal to Amplenote, which I use in much the same way you use along with Logseq. 3. Their mobile app is in beta but already pretty good! Of course no infinite canvas app is going to be terribly useful on mobile, but with their app you can easily add new notes or scan your boards for reference, which is good enough for my use cases. (I still use Amplenote for my journaling and adding jots, just have to transfer them manually later on). Thanks for the review! I'm looking forward to growing with Scrintal

Would be helpful if you focused on pricing models up front.

It’s called Logseq Whiteboard! It’s an alpha feature so you have to toggle it on in your settings menu

Thanks for the video ❤. Which do you think has the best mobile version of a mind map / infinite canvas?

Nice video thanks! I am disheartened that Scrintals pricing is annual only at present so it is a big investment for a 2 hour test!! I wondered….Can you link ideas across canvases? Or do you have to decide where something fits first? Or do you just put everything in one really big space? Also, when you drag things into the table - are the links to other notes retained? Do you have to pull them out of the table to see them visually?

As a biased Obsidian user, I just said in my head Obsidian can do that until you got to sharing then you would need any of the sync options. So doable but not as intuitive...

That table feature is nice though, to keep it all collected in one piece versus making cards for headers and laying it out manually

@@dj_timoy going into headings or block for me is more brainstorming... The table like feature would be more groups with metadata menu for automatically changing information accorsing to group.

Here's what is really happening. Once you place your data in their hands... it belongs to them, not you. You just give them your free input--your hard-fought data, ideas, and insights--for their "service", and they make YOU pay them for the privilege. They mine your thoughts and discoveries, and you pay them? No thanks. I don't care what they offer in return. This is a broad AI hustle happening on a number of fronts. Reply

Yeah if you want to manage a project and a group of people, not if you want to use this tool for visual thinking.
