Thank you very much for the BEST introduction to the script editor that I have found so far. Too often, the person creating the tutorial (particularly in written tutorials) skips over how to open the script editor or how to use it. This was very informative and I really appreciate it. I'm actually quite good with Javascript for web pages (and have worked with JS in PDFs before), but I just couldn't remember the nuances of the naming conventions and using the script editor in LiveCycle. Thanks again!

I still have troubles dealing with the java script editor but luckily with the release of LiveCycle Designer ES2 9.0 with the new Action Builder programming has been made so much simpler but this is still good to know for those who have the older versions.

The way to do this is to "hide" all of the subforms at the beginning of each "exit" event. Then your if/then statements will "unhide" only the one the user chooses. If they make a mistake, they only need to re-choose from the dropdown, and the whole hide/unhide process repeats itself. So before your first if statement enter this code: sfEmerson.presence="hidden"; sfNETA7513.presence="hidden"; sfCountBKR.presence="hidden";

It's easier to use FormCalc with date calculations. Here is the script assuming two date fields (StartingDate and EndningDate)...it checks first to make sure the "end date" is after the "start date", then does the subtractio, and finally sticks the result in a TextField called txtResult: var diff = Date2Num(EndingDate.rawValue, "YYYY-MM-DD") - Date2Num(StartingDate.rawValue, "YYYY-MM-DD") if (diff > 0) then txtResult.rawValue = diff;

So, If I have several if statements in the exit section of a drop down which reveal different subforms, for example: if(this.rawValue=="0") {sfEmerson.presence="visible";} if(this.rawValue=="1") {sfNETA7513.presence="visible";} if(this.rawValue=="2") {sfCountBKR.presence="visible";} How do I proceed to rehide them. I've tried several different techniques and failed. The situation would be an employee accidentally selecting the wrong item and then changing it and not able to hide subform.
