I could definitely see the sponge wearing out after only one week from intense use. I've used mine for about a month or two, and, although it's tearing a little, I could see it being used months from now. This is from doing dishes, and only dishes, about every 3-4 days. Favorite sponge, but it will never be what it is straight from the package. I do still think it exceeds from all other sponges on the market currently.
@errorruru

To give context: If you scroll down a little bit in the comment section, he mentions that he uses his Scrub Daddy 2-6 times daily as he makes breakfast and dinner at home. During weekends, he makes lunch. He also has a family size of 4, and he admits to using his sponges a lot. In my opinion the Scrub Daddy sponge should only be used when necessary. If it comes to regular dishes, you should use your ordinary sponges. This is so that it won't wear out easily. Another factor is that his family is of 4, but it is mentioned in a Scrub Daddy video here (kzitem.info/news/bejne/q2uF36OugKyYdYYsi=EirGOWeC2DEi8FzA, skip to 4:03) that the Scrub Daddy sponge can last minimally two months for a family of 2-3 only. Although this video is indeed an honest review, it isn't truly accurate. The outcome of the quality of the sponge is solely dependent on your situation (your family size and how often you use it). Hope this helps lol

I basically agree that after time the sponge does break down. But this is my FAVORITE sponge and I will continue to purchase them. The warm water makes them soft, never have they scratched any of my pots, pans, or glass stove top. One of my favorite things is that when you leave it in the sponge dish, all the water comes out, it is dry and odorless, never holds the bacteria's that make a normal sponge stinky & slimy. The break down on normal usage for me is about 2 months. I am not concerned with the pieces in the drain, because the fibers continue to break down to microscopic size and have never clogged my drain. After about 2 months I toss it and open a new one. LOVE IT 100%

There's no way this material would scratch a non-stick teflon surface. Scratching is about hardness, not firmness. By that I mean, no matter how dry or firm a substance is, if its chemical makeup is not harder than the other material, it will NOT scratch it. Scrub daddy is an engineered polymer that is firm when cold, but not "hard." In much the same way, a piece of chalk is firm, but could never scratch teflon.

@martinc3597

According to some of the comments and reviews, many people probably dislike it b/c he leaves the water faucet running and some people don't like that b/c it may make them uncomfortable; most likely ever since they were old enough to reach a water faucet, they were told by their parents ( myself included ), to not leave the water faucet running when it's not being useful and/or to save the amount being used at a time to decrease the water usage. This is a problem so greatly considered that even in some places, the water usage is very critical due to the highly populated areas and saving water by decreasing water usage, most likely when it's wastage, is highly recommended and a priority. ( When I actually looked at the reviews and the number of dislikes and likes, there really isn't much, probably b/c to the low number of views but when the "dislikes-746" is compared to the "likes-875", they aren't really far apart and well the above may explain besides the number of "views" which there are currently 292,247)

Nemesis099 It doesn’t matter if they said you can use soap. They clearly said it works best without chemicals. Therefore you are testing this product while it’s not at its fullest. And the only reason it’s ruined is because you overused just like you mentioned in the video. Also you keep and complaining about the mouth, that is meant to clean spoons and other utensils. Not to serve as another finger hole. Also, if you want to say well if it says it can use soap than it should. Well technically can work with soap, maybe not always (since it slips out sometimes) and maybe not that well, but it still can work with soap. They don’t say it works perfect with soap. This review is bad in my opinion and most points were pretty bad. It seemed kinda bias to that other sponge you were talking about. But hey no offense that’s just my opinion on this review. Have a great day!

@@jtyler1998 I always thought that defeated the purpose of the expensive appliance, myself. I know 2 things: This sponge destroys everything it touches with scratches. Glass. My refrigerator! 2. The one commonality of cancer are dishwashers. Watch the detergent be a carcinogen. You can feel the slimy residue on your glasses. ick. I was right about margarine when I was 6 40 years ago: "It's gross!" I was right about Phen-fen, that it was going to have a bad ending. I was right about anti-bacterial soap. Carcinogen. And eggs. Eggs aren't bad for you at all. My next things are vaping and teeth whitener. Just watch. You'll see. Takes like 30 years to get it together on any new chemical. So dont be a Guinea pig.

It’s the soap breaking it down. It’s meant to be used with just water. Then you can use soap with a different sponge to finish sanitizing your dishes. “Well what’s the point” The point is the scrub daddy is suppose to be a heavy duty sponge that removes caked on food and material with just water. It’s not a soap sponge. It’s just something to help you where your regular sponge can’t. I use it to removes burnt on food or cakes on food, then I use a different sponge with soap to clean up the easy stuff. When did people become so lazy?

Just did my first clean with a scrub daddy. He definetely did good for what I put him through, and my bathroom tiles have never been so easy to clean. I will say, some of the more stubborn dirt (mold), it will not remove it on its own. I used dish soap, so maybe it could with a different product. But I will no doubt keep using them for my bathroom. I think I will try with my oven as well.

Mine last a good long time. I have a dishwasher for other things, but clean my pots almost daily, including cast iron with the sponges. I have run them through the dishwasher and they came out fine. They do break apart eventually, but I noticed their fastest breakdown is when I used them with Coment cleanser to clean my kitchen sink at the end of its life. And they are pricey.

+ZAballer well if you leave it on for 30 seconds every time you use the sink and you use the sink at least 5 times a day, that's already about 2 minutes, and if you do that every day, that's 730 minutes a year which is a lot of fucking water. and that's rounding down as well

It's a good review; I bought one specifically for pots and pans and found similar results with the lack of durability from multi-use. If I have a really caked on mess, it's best for that; not good for cleaning counters as it's overall absorption is pretty poor. 6.5/10 though I recommend 8/10 for cleaning hard stains.
