I truly do not understand why I could never learn to swim at all!!!! I'm 38 years old and have tried nearly every summer to learn to swim for 30 years!!!! YES 30 years!!!! I'm very thin and learn so my body have the buoyancy of an engine block!!!! How in the world can there people just lightly scull with the hands and keep there heads above the surface???? I can scull as hard as I can AND kick as hard as I can and I sink right under even will a full breath of air!!!! This upsets me to no end because never being able to swim has forced me to miss out on SOOOO much throughout my life!!!! I was always the kid that could only sit on the bank at the lake watching all my friends jump off the rock cliffs and swing off the rope swing into the lake making swimming look as easy as walking!!!! And I never could ride on boats for the same reason because my buddies always would jump off and swim so I didn't like being the retard sitting on the boat with a seat belt on and a life jacket never able to enjoy being on the water! I have really been putting the time and effort this summer to try again to learn and watching all these video tutorials hoping to get some helpful tips but nothing helps at all!!!! And there is no place around where I live here in east Tennessee that offers adult lessons of any kind I actually got laughed at on the phone when I called the closest ymca asking about it! I ask about swimming lessons and the man ask ok how old is the child and I said no no I'm asking for myself I'm 38 and the man laughed and said ummm we only offer lessons for children 3 to 17!!!! He talked like being 38 and never did learn to swim was unheard of!!!! I'm not one to just give up at anything I want to do but looks like as for swimming I'm going to have to after 30 years of failing at it!!!!

***** Perhaps you should start with a small pool at 5 foot depth.

I'm in mid TN, and our athletic club here offers adult swim lessons (I'm starting next week 🤞). I googled "adult swim lessons Knoxville", and seems like Knoxville YMCA offers them! Good luck!

Have to learn to swim before the 18th... I love being in water, but been afraid to swim... I remember once at my cousins pool there was a Homer Simpson chair floater and I sat on it and it flipped and I swam up... but it was a reflex, everytime I try to recreate it, I almost drown -.-

a time to remember watching is not the same as doing. Learn by doing.

Get a swimming coach and practice, practice, practice. You can never learn just by watching. :)
