Simply perfection!!! Love your videos, always educational. I ran into the same problem with my V1 scythe chassis and the motor not being centered. Furitek told me to rotate the motor on the mount and to be mindful when setting the gear mesh. Took some time but I was able to get everything to work. You’d think it would all line up out of the box. Great work as always!!!

Thank you, I appreciate that! Yeah, it could work on the stock plate just barely (still not on center,) but the massive fail is that flat skid designed for it. They could have adjusted the trans over to work. Still don't even think that could get it centered with their aluminum motor mount though. Someone mentioned having to use like a printed mount that centers up the motor. All in all, I am stoked for the BAM motor that ended up in this! Cheers!

Nice build, i was thinking of building a scythe v2 but i've been having a lot of bad experiences with different furitek products. Where do you get m1.4 washers? I cant find anywhere. Small outer diameter m1.4 washers are useful but nobody sells them, only nuts. I dont get why most servo mounts are m1.4 but the servo ear holes are 2mm. The only servo mount that has m2 mounting is samix.

Love this chassis, thanks for sharing. Much enjoy your builds and videos! Shame on the komodo motor off-center issue. I've encountered the same. Put a fair bit of time into trying to sort this... 3 different scythe chassis (v1 and v2) paired with all Furitek parts (specifically as listed on the scythe product page, purchased from their store), as well as many other non-furitek components (skids, transmission, and motor mounts) and all have komodo motor off-center, to the point I'm unable to install motor cover without rubbing motor. Work-around I finally came up was to modify stl for surpass motor mount.
@bcochener
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! - Yeah the motor deal is just insane to me. Why would their skid put it off center if it’s made for it? That motor cover looks so good and is functional, I definitely want to be able to run it. I am, however always happier to run a Mofo RC motor, so that’s fine. This BAM is a new one for me as I have 2 Komodo’s in builds already, so it’s a win in the end. Cheers!

Very nice work as usual. I’m currently building version one Scythe based around the full size Komodo/Stellar. Ran into the same issue of the motor not being centered. It’s so far off it rubs on the driver’s side motor cover. For the money Furitek charges, the design shouldn’t be flawed. Very disappointing. Had I known about this ahead of time I wouldn’t have invested the money. I also purchased their Lizard Pro ESC, Avatar micro receiver and radio. Hopefully those will play well together.

@@chrishester2928 Yeah, I have no idea about that motor position on those skids. You could run the motor on the stock skid with maybe like a papers worth of clearance to the motor cover. But no way with the Furitek skid. You saw how close it put the motor to the side rails. Neither one of them put the Komodo on center of the cover, which I though was the entire design stand point of it and the chassis. Ah, what do I know...? - Happy Holidays to you as well.

That a great looking 24 , I was wondering would a stock type gearbox and a brushed 50/50 motor fit in to that chassis with out any modifications.
@bcochener
Жыл бұрын
It would fit, but limit you to using the stock lower rear link mount positions instead of any of the riser options - due to the 050 can length. It may limit your up travel as well, with the upper link hitting the longer can sooner. Basically the same issue you run into on any chassis running the 050. If you want to get really low and have a lot of up travel into the frame, you will hit it, otherwise, no problem I would think.
