in my humble opinion it is too wide. its distorts the look of the Gladiator 🤔 after that it takes everyone 👍😉 the main thing is to have fun. very nice video 👍 and this land is really nice

Wish we would have shown off more of what it could do being so wide versus what it was bad at. Hard to know till you try, I guess. Looking forward to getting back out and seeing Billy redeem himself today.

Yeah, I think that was the first time Maximus was the clear winner in a video against Billy. Kraig could learn to drive him a little better but it certainly wasn’t the right set up for the terrain. I really appreciate him buying and building this stuff though so we can show it off. I’ve learned that +4 on the axle and maybe some dish in the wheel (like I’m running already) is pro’ly going to be optimal. It’s not really a revelation, though. I would have predicted that. Still fun to try. Thanks for the comment. Hope you have a great one, bro!

@@nickkireta9443 We use lock tight on our axle threads to keep those nuts on because they aren’t locknuts like the stock ones. Still gotta check them before each run and just keep an eye out for the wobble but usually don’t have that problem anymore. Hope that helps.

I tend to like scale looks over performance, billy is a tad too wide for me but he does look pretty mean.
@texomarc
2 жыл бұрын
Looks real tough and it’s super cool to watch him run a tire way up a wall but it’s not actually better performing. This was the first time I really felt like Maximus was the winner. Sure, flat plane testing would show that Billy can pro’ly side hill better but on this terrain that means almost nothing. For me, both for scale and performance, I think Max is setup pretty good, +4mm extensions and some wheel dish. Might could go up to +8mm with the dish, depending on wheel size, wheelbase and terrain.

You are gonna bend axle shafts. Went 10on mine and replaced a bunch of axles. Theres a whole lot of leverage on your servo also do plan on keeping a few in your parts bin. Looks pretty good though. What shock set up? I'm currently running double barrels with the original stock length black springs with LGRP trailmasters (pretty much the same as scramblers), with small foams. I call it "OX" for a reason

Yeah those big tires and wide offset is tough on parts. I was thinking of trying out the Full Send Monster axles on my buggy to see if they will last as I plan on keeping it wide. For the Gladiator shocks they are stock mounted to the frame in back and in the front I have a LCG set from Etsy that has a shock tower. I cut the reservoir off and mounted them inverted with 50,000 diff oil and MOFO droop springs in front and stock springs in rear.
