The APS-C DSLR lens in its final form!
When it came out, reviewers were wondering why Sigma would bother making such an overkill lens for crop sensors. I don't know if reviewers just don't do their research or what, because there ARE crop sensor cameras that actually take full advantage of a lens like this: Foveon cameras. It's really easy to find Sigma copy that pretty much states this, too. Let's take a look at the kinds of results to expect from this amazing lens on the camera it was designed to compliment.
Note: I stated that the resolution of the sd Quattro is higher than the SD1; you can debate this all day long, but I'm talking about the primary layer resolution that gives the image output the overall 19.something MP, where the individual pixels are more densely packed. A lot of actual 3rd party testing has been done to show that the Quattro does provide a better final result; it's buried in the Discord somewhere. Thank you Tony for digging it up!
Oh, about that second part of the video title: it's an experiment. I'm wondering how incorporating a current meme will affect viewership. If anything, the sd Quattro is basically the unstoppable, focused Sigma Male of cameras, so it isn't totally irrelevant.
About my class:
It will be hosted in Benicia, CA (San Francisco East Bay) at a small gallery called Once Upon a Canvas. The class is mostly aimed at young people who have a functional mirrorless or DSLR camera and a decent laptop that really want to get started in photography quick, and learn fundamentals to build on; I want to help people skip out on some of the trial-and-error I went through learning. It will be two days, 3-4 hours per day.
If you are interested in the class, send me an email via the address on my KZitem About page.
The class date is set! It will be the 11th and 12th of August from 11AM to about 2PM, although it may go later. The first class will be $80 for both days.
Here's the link if you want to sign up. Short notice, but I still have seats as far as I know:

The new Discord for my channel: / discord
I made the Discord for people who want to talk about the kinds of old and weird cameras (this one isn't weird, just widely considered outdated) I show on my channel, show off their results, their acquisitions, and ask for critique. We've been building up over there and have quite a few new members, with SUPER helpful commentary; it's just the friendly kind of community of photo enthusiasts I've wanted to build, so check it out!
Update:
The Discord continues to get better as we get people from all around the world contributing. Seriously it is becoming exactly what I wanted it to be, and for that I'm thankful and it gives a little extra faith in humanity.
