Thank you for the quick follow up review on this model. I wish they had designed the T3A unit the way they did with this one. Like so often it depends on the use case but IMHO the more versatile general purpose unit is the T3A. Of course the T3B is suitable for all PCB or fine electronics (especially SMD) stuff but I can hardly imagine soldering speaker terminals, thicker wires or anything else demanding a bigger contact area with these tiny 210 cartridges. Searching the JBC portfolio the cartridge range for the 245 handle is so much wider going from a fine 0.6mm chisel up to 6.6mm whilst for the 210 handle it stops at 2mm. Damn Choices.

Damn! Those Stations are good. This gonna be the second unit I straightly buy after your video. I was looking for a second unit for my (formerly ordered after your T3A video) T3A station - and I already saw this T3B thing, but couldn't spin my head around it. But the performance you've shown is pretty decent, given that it has those itty-bitty-tiny soldering tips available. You should really negotiate some kind of affiliate links for these with the manufacturer, since this will become the second piece of kit I'm gonna buy - to replace my 12 year old Hakko gear. All I need for absolute happiness now is a hot-air which could compete with the Quick 861 and I'm fully committed to Aixun, even earning some social credit, I guess.

I think I will keep my ksger t12 that I got only last year. If they made a soldering station just like this that supported all three JBC handles T245, T210 and T115 I would consider upgrading. If it additionally supported my existing T12 handles I would upgrade without thinking about it. The UI could also be a bit more intuitive. It would be nice if the presets could be changed by just cycling through them using a single button. As it is right now it requires too many steps.

Hi. Can you check if the PSU output is floating please? (measure the voltage between the soldering iron tip and mains earth to check there is not half mains potential on the tip like you’d get on any USB power supply output). I’d be amazed if JBC, Metcal or Pace measure more than millivolts, but I don’t trust Chinese stations to get it right. EDIT: paused video at 7:29 it looks like it is earthed… but I’d still be interested if you verify. I also saw another comment saying they got a shock from the tip.

See 13:46 Mine also has that knurled threaded pocket up at the tip storage side of the holder. I saw that and thought it wouldn't be too hard to make a hood that swings up and over the sharp tip ends to avoid that issue of jabbing yourself. Also makes me wonder if Aixun placed that there for just that purpose? I mean, from a dollars and cents perspective, it would benefit them if they market such a tip guard as an accessory.....more $ LOL BTW...Just got mine today from China Phoenix. Shipping to US was lightening fast (less than a week), but then I paid the extra 7 or 8 bucks for expedited service. I got the bundle with the C115 and C210 handles, along with 3 different tips for each handle. NEAT! Total with shipping was $218 so I don't think that was too awful bad considering everything you get.

I always wondered, how cold junction measurement and compensation is implemented in these stations. There are thermocouple wires (dissimilar metals) coming from the welded joint. Then, copper leads through connecting wire. Then, the ribbon wires (probably copper) going to the front PCB. There are various dissimilar metals, and various voltages generated because of their junctions. Could you make a video explaining how all of this is done? Thank you.

I'm not impressed with this unit. There is several reasons, 1) the hand piece is not good quality, the one I received you can hear sparking within the hand piece so obviously the contacts are not making good contact. It actually randomly not recognize there is a tip installed if you slightly press the tip the wrong way. 2) It produces switching noises very noticeable if you also working with a scope, (at the moment not sure if its coupled from earth ground or through emf) but at idle there is a ~75khz 150mv spikes, and when its heating can go up to 300mv pk-pk which really ruins measurements. 3) The 110v version just comes with a really bad adaptor and not a north American cable, the adaptor litterly sags not fitting properly, so you actually have to go find a proper power cable. 4) the three tips I think one is probably somewhat useful.

Is it really 220V only? I bought the 110V version of the T3A, it only came with an ungrounded plug adapter. Unfortunately the power supply couldn't supply 200W continuously, at least not on 110V. The current sense resistors appear to be undersized, and exploded after soldering three brass standoffs to an AM3 CPU cooler. The DC output on the back is wired directly to the converter output (no diodes) so it still works powered from a bench supply. Are there any other indications besides the silkscreen that your T3B supply is exclusively 220V input?

Do you know where I can find the pinout data for the Aixun T3A and T3B? I want to wire my T12 and old Hakko hand pieces to work with them. Btw, making a video on this topic would be very popular.

Hi. Is this the best value clone soldering station up to 70/80w...As i just want a good clone station that can do up to at least 60/70W or more. At one point i was was thinking of getting a original fx888D or the FX951 (but the price with basic setup isn't great ) or the weller 70w ( but the weller doesn't recover near the hakko ). I dont know what the better value clones of those are or what other good quality soldering stations are out there for all soldering from 40w to 80w or more. As most reviews for clones are at least 5 years old now days. Any help would be appreciated. Also an original Hakko 888D is like 200 AUD which is in the price of this Aixun

Quite like this station, especially the form factor. Wonder if it is worth measuring the power consumption when in sleep mode for all these stations........might be useful to know when leaving them switched on all day.........or is that just me being a tight ar$e Scotsman again!

I'll check it out, also see what the power consumption looks like whilst in use.

I just ordered this one with the T210 and an extra T115 handle. Now i ask myself will the placed in holder detection work with the original JBC T210 and T115, the 115 is plastic a front?
@powermasters884

It will work fine, the 115 also has metal in the front.

is there any more affordable stations for ham radio work? I'm a disabled vet and just don't have the money this fine station would require to be built out. thanks for any tips.

You could happily use a KSGER STM32 station for most work without trouble.

I ordered T115 and T210 tips from aliexpress. They did not fit the T115 handle came with the station. The tip that came with the station does not have any identification on it so i cannot tell if its T115 to begin with. Its very close but not perfect. I have TS2115-105 tip that does not fit this handle. Its 0.1mm too wide and 0.2mm shorter and TS2210-002 thats way too big for this handle. Can you clarify to me why that is ?

The T115 handle works OK with genuine JBC tips - I can only assume the tips from AliExpress are manufactured incorrectly.

Sure thing, if your offer is serious I have been looking to get a decent station for my university rocketry team (I am leaving soon and am the only member with a good station) the FX 951 would be great.

How do you remove tips, with pliers ? I am looking for a station that has easy removable tips that i can swap on the fly. Some kind of latching mechanism or magnetic or something. Having to use external tools to pull out the tip is annoying.

If you can get the right size tips, the C210 is probably a better choice for normal soldering. The C245 is more suited to higher power work.

Does anyone know the ID-resistor value for the C115 handpiece? I already had the T3B with C210 hande, so i bought a C115 handle, but the station does not recognize it. the resisitor is 10K, but I am not sure that is correct

Very interesting video. I am currently looking for a new iron for microsoldering and until I saw your video I was going to go with the TS100, but now this looks good value for money. Are there any base units like the above that can drive the JBC mini hot tweezers that you know of?

I can't understand why they don't make the unit that takes all the different handles, I bought this unit by mistake instead of the T245 unit. The holders for the hand pieces are different so you have to buy separate holders as well. the unit works well for fine soldering but its of no use to me I now have to buy another unit and holder T245. Try and find a unit that takes all handles.
