As it nears the anniversary of Nannie’s passing, I find that she’s been on my mind more and more.
I sat down to write this song about her a few days ago and Paul and Carola came over to help with the recording yesterday.
It was recorded in the Inch field, just across the River Anner on our farm in Mullinahone. Nannie (she always spelt it with an “ie”) married my grandfather and moved here in 1954. She lived and farmed the land here until her death last year.
Dad sold his best cow in 1990 and bought the guitar I’m playing (he doesn’t know I brought it down the fields so don’t tell him pls)
This doesn’t have a name yet, but here’s a song for Nannie.
