One issue with sea creatures "swimming to the top of mountains" is that these creatures live in a very particular ecosystem. It's not a matter of just moving to a new location, it's a matter of being able to survive in that new location. The shellfish that have been found on mountain tops would require food in order to survive in that location. Another issue is, if they just swam to the top of mountains and then the water receded to leave them there, they wouldn't have been fossilized. Fossilization requires very specific conditions and just being left on the top of a mountain wouldn't do it. As VR points out, they have to be _buried,_ and if they are on the top of a static mountain, that wouldn't happen.

Not to even mention that most sea creatures still need some amount of light to pass through water for a thriving ecosystem. The sea levels would have to rise over 9 km above current sea level to cover the highest mountains, if the all mountains were supposed to be under water a that time. (I am not even mentioning the fact that God would have to spawn some extra water, because there is not enough on this planet to cover surface to such an extend) That means that in Mediterranean area, sea levels would still be 4km high in the closest ground level. Over 4 km under sea level (abyssal zone) only deep sea fish can survive...

@@andyhx2 Any freshwater or marine life would have died anyways. The amount of water mixing with the rest of the bodies of water would have altered the water parameters so drastically that they wouldn’t have been able to adjust enough to stay alive. Even the beneficial nitrifying bacteria wouldn’t have been strong enough to handle such a swing, and wouldn’t have been able to consume enough ammonia and nitrite even if a small amount somehow survived. The ammonia would continue to drastically build up as the freshwater and marine life would die, causing spikes endlessly and furthering the cycle of death. The anaerobic bacteria would be dead as the underwater “substrate” would be severely disturbed. As for pressure, any fish requiring pressure (lets say Frontosa as an example or a deep sea creature) would have died, as the pressure would have been altered. They also can’t just rise up to the surface, or they could entirely destroy their tissues as well, even cause death.

The answer to Jasons question about a marine animal swimming to the top of a mountain, dying there and becoming a fossil is erosion. Mountains do not pile up from debris falling on top. They are the top. Mountains rise from the bottom due to tectonic activity. Erosion (wind water etc) on the other hand continuously carries away material from the mountains, slowly grinding away on them. So any cadaver on top of a mountain would get swept away on eroding ground, not burried under layers of sediment.

The first time he answered the question of why the sea creatures couldn't have just swum up the mountains and died, VR mentioned that fat that there are too many layers for them to have been created in a year but he didn't repeat and clarify that later on. I think was a mistake because I think that that is the sort of information that is damning and easy to understand. We have fossils on mountaintops in layers of rock that was clearly created much more than a year than the layers below it and yet we see aquatic lifeforms in all those layers. Obviously that area would have had to be under water for far longer than a year so a global flood doesn't explain what we actually see.

There are only two ways that land that was once under water could get exposed. Either the water level would have to fall or the land would have to rise. How exactly could the ocean water levels ever have been high enough to cover mountains and have just receded? Where would all that water have gone? There's basically always the same amount of water on the surface of the Earth but it just gets moved around as the continental plates move. The only that the water level could go down relative to stationary land is if other land went down and the water filled in the empty space. Either way, it can only be tectonics that is the root of the changes in water level relative to the land.

There are just SO many things wrong with the 'Great Flood" fairytale it's where to start debunking it. Some of my favourites are: So how did Kangaroo's somehow migrate after the flood all the way to Oz, with not one shred of evidence of the journey? No skeletal remains no Kanga poo, no nothing. And of course the same for every other species that doesn't now live where Noah's Love Boat docked! Or:. So according to Young Earth Creatards, the flood happened 4000 years ago. So there were just 8 people left in the entire world then. ( I'm not even going into that there was only Mrs Noah as the female side of things as that gets.....erm.... interesting!!) Pyramids were created about 500 years later. So..it's been calculated that just one country's slave population ( I E Egypt ) had to be around 28,000 to build them in the time we know they took. Hmmm. Those 8 had been a bit.....busy, hadn't they? Do the maths. Not possible. And that ignores all the other countries populations. Then India and China had cultures that somehow missed mentioning a global cataclysmic flood. Just skipped their minds. Maybe they couldn't find a pen. You know how frustrating that is Lastly, what stopped anybody else building a normal boat? No one else needed to save the animals. If I knew a flood was coming that would kill me and my family, I'd start building a boat. Just a simple boat. Pile my two or three others on. Job done. All Saved. It's not rocket science. It really is all complete bollocks. Good fun though.

Supposed contradictions in scripture seem to influence some to leave Christianity; Gilgamesh vs Noah is not a contradiction: if written between 2100-1200BC, this account of the flood (which happened 2240ish BC), is labeled as a POEM (literary license) and was supposedly written (if above dates are correct) when Noah, Shem, and Abraham were all still alive! Abraham even lived in the city of Ur from where Gilgamesh reigned! (Nimrod was the king, according to the Bible, during Abraham’s time and could have been the King the poem was written for). Surely the Biblical account would have been re-told locally, and Gilgamesh could have simply re-made what Noah, Shem and Abraham told him while centering his poem around a Sumerian king. It neither proves nor disproves the Bible account; but it certainly is not a contradiction. It is my hope that this may encourage some to reconsider the validity of God’s Word.
