Thanks Dave! This series will save me hundreds of dollars!! The shop quoted $200 per machine for an oil change and to winterize. Looking forward to learning how to clean up my sun faded machines. The seadoo sticker came off and there is a huge visible difference in the black, and the yellow plastic is getting dull.

I leave the tender end on all my jet ski's and my lawn mower permanently. Plug them in between lake trips. Makes them last a very long time. Thanks for the video.

Exactly what I wanted to know! Do you also put fuel stabilizer ? I do have another question: I live in northern Canada and if I do as you say, can my Spark rest in my cottage's un-heated garage all winter? Temperature gets pretty harsh up here.

Great videos Dave. Just wanted to add another option for doing the flush, rather than using a pump I just gravity feed the antifreeze. Basically made the same adapter as you did but longer, with a funnel on the end. Start up the engine and pour antifreeze into the funnel from rear deck height. No pump required. The manual recommends just blowing the exhaust out with a compressor but every dealer I have spoken to flushes with antifreeze. Had to laugh when the socket for the oil filter kept falling off. Been there!

I just used a water hose and cut the male end and about 3 foot with a small funnel stick in female end. Gravity fed it with engine on and works like a charm.

Is the flush port supposed to be closed with the same cap as the bilge hole? Or is it meant to stay open all the time? Just bought a used spark and your videos are very helpful. I realized the flush port is wide open and the owner might have rode the jet ski with the port open. Will this cause damage? Can it suck the saltwater up the flush port if it is open?

It stays open.

My machine doesn't have a flush kit to screw in a hose so I'm just gonna snug fit a hose in the end. I hadn't planned on flushing the system in the spring. I usually just drop them in the water and off I go. Is there a reason why this isn't good for the machine?

Why wouldn't you just put the battery tender terminals on permanently. I don't see the need to disconnect the battery from the machine. All my street bikes etc come with factory installed tender ends and none of the manuals i have read mention anything about disconnecting the battery from the machine. That way in the summer if you don't use the ski for a while you can quickly hook up a battery tender any time you want.
@MohawkDaveOffRoad

That is a good point. I do sometimes do that. I will also have a review on an awesome cheap battery keeper. Something way better than what I have been using before.

@@MohawkDaveOffRoad I use the name brand Battery Tender. Do you have a better choice than those? I would be interested. Can you see any reason why you couldn't leave the battery in the ski with the tender hooked up all winter?

How could you make a winterizing video with out charging plugs, oil, fogging pistons and treating gas??
@MohawkDaveOffRoad
Жыл бұрын
Because this video is part 4 of 4. What you are referring to is in part 1 though 3. Also some advice: don’t change your plugs if you are fogging, because it will foul out your brand new plugs that you just replaced. Also fogging is not necessary unless you’re going to leave it in the water.

Yeah you can hook up a hose to it as its running and flush it out. The antifreeze used in my video is for boats and rvs so it is non toxic

@@MohawkDaveOffRoad gotcha unfortunately i will be shrink wrapping and storing outside. So would you suggest fogging leaving the old spark plugs then next summer change plugs?
