Ah, late again to view this one but in time to wish you a Happy Father's Day 2022 John & all your other Father viewers. Again a stunningly interesting, informative video with your typically relaxed, inviting commentary. What a great array of fish species in one single trip & gosh, some of the species don't like to make it easy to bring them up. I sit up quite late at night watching your videos saying 'this must be my last for tonight', & then I watch another one, or two. You are SO addictive. Cheers, Don from South Aust.

I went fishing today near the Adriatic and it was the first time in years. I lost two lures, one rigging set up, and a guy 40 yards from me threw his line over mine and drug my line in, then he threw my rigging into the rocks instead of back in the water. The results was that I got hung up. The whole day was a circus, at 73, it is harder than it used to be. You motivated me to dust off my rods, and I will go again in a few days. I think that if you found a swimming pool and showed how your lures look when cast and reeled in, how you work the rod action... this would be a great video. There are so many videos with guys showing their favorite lures, but NONE of them show the action in the water. Just an idea, but I bet it wold be popular. Thanks for your videos.

Rather than say, a wrecking trip, or a species hunt I much prefer a 'prospecting' trip. Like John said here, you just don't know what you're gonna get. They're the best sessions, especially when something like a Dragonet comes aboard on a squid sliver, or a Huss on black lug. It's just great to get out there, leaving the stress of life behind you. Happy Fathers Day to you too John, and all fathers watching this channel.

Thanks John. Enjoyable and informative as ever. We're back down to the Roseland for a couple of weeks at the end of August so can't wait to wet a few lines! Meanwhile, there's the added amusement of seeing what KZitem closed captions makes of your accent. In the first few minutes of this one we had sand-eels alternatively expressed as 'sandals', and 'sun deals'... Can only assume the developers of their speech recognition software haven't spent much time in the North East...

Good session & video. If you can, please take a few seconds to describe what you've seen on your depthfinder, that caused you to stop at that "mixed/broken ground", as obviously it was too deep to clearly see the bottom from the surface. It would be most handy to also start getting your depthfinder interpretation experience and insights, especially ito things like flat reef vs broken/undulating reef vs pinnacles or trenches etc and/or sandy vs muddy bottoms.
