*Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*

Brilliant video lads, nice too see Mr Panther there with you what a legend he is, I used to look forward to reading his stories. Met him once and got so much advice from him and he gave my little six year old lad a reel from his box and some line, what a gent. Keep the vids going as its so helpful to new and old anglers, like the in depth stuff of your review's as it makes it worth while watching especialy as you first talk about the reel then cast with it then fish with it, don't think anyone has done review's like you guys do.

I have had My pair of Penn 525 mag 2 for 4 years almost now, They are still going strong and have landed some lovley fish on them. Did have one with spool rub problems but soon learnt that all you have to do is loosen the gold cap off and that fixes the issue straight away works for me kushdy. Great reels can cast just the right range for where the fish are and the mags are great to stop birds nesting. mine are set just past half way everytime

*The drag is superior to other reels as far as stopping power is **pickoy.com/penn-1259871-fishing-reel/** I fish mostly in saltwater, so it's important to have a reel that's sealed. It has never let me down. I did however have to replace the drag disc on one reel. Cannot complain, it was 20 yrs old an useed 3 to 4 times a week. I redfish and snook fish the most. Caught a 35 lbs cobis once on the old reel.*

Iv got a mag 3 and fathom 2, the fathom 2 is much better, mag 3 feels weak compared to the fathom, mag 3 struggles under any load, especially trying to wind in when you've got a bit of weed on your line

Bearings slowing the spool down won't create line lift 🙄 it'll do the opposite. Spool spinning too fast will cause the nests

The only difference in them is that the mag3 has full stainless gears, and the anodised parts are red rather than gold. Other than that they're the same reel

I've 6 of the original 525 mags designed by Neil Mckellow, tried the m2, it's a total downgrade from the McKellow design. Have 4 spare spools and spare gears. Im going to get a lifetime out of them....
