This trip is most definitely in my top 10 trips, and will probably always remain there!!! This trip, and the next trip, represent the very best of the UK weather, it simply does not get better. We are on the North Cornish coast, famous for surfing, and it was flat as a Witch's Tit. We were VERY lucky to secure a parking spot, at Porthtowan, be very careful here, the Nazi Wardens have rich pickings here, and the parking is in zones, so even though there are NO lines, there is NO parking, and tickets are handed out like confetti. Deliberate entrapment? You bet. Anyway enough of that, we launched on the beach, where the previous week, there had been a surf contest, ha ha, not today, a flat sea, enables us access to all the caves, and gullies normally out of bounds. By the time we rounded St Agnes Head, the sea conditions, and weather were just the ultimate, and the atmosphere at St Agnes, was beguiling. Children's laughter, people's voices, dogs, all manner of sounds normally inaudible, found us, due to the sheer peace and quiet. It really was special, happy smiling faces, enjoyed beach barbeques, lilos, and sit on kayaks, kids, safely swimming, and people snorkelling, it could have been anywhere in the Med on a summer's day, but just for once, it was good old Blighty, pinch me I'm dreaming. The caves and coves are to numerous to recount here, all the best ones are included, but some had to be omitted. The one were I land, and find the footprints on, was paddled right through on the return journey, as the tide level rose, you can see Matt emerge from it, with his torch on. We landed back at Porthtowan at 10.40pm, and just made the bar for a pint. We moved on, that night to Portreath, for the next day, which was even BETTER than this.
