Between the sharp rocks, the cliffs and the rough ocean the area looks almost too dangerous to raise babies in.

Haha, you would think, huh? :-) But they have a very thick fur, and a thick layer of fat under that, so they are okay.

What a cuties! ❤️ However, they’re fur seals not sea lions. Didn’t know it’s possible to meet them in Chile 😊

Yeah, they were really cute :-) But Google for Punta Pichalo, in the town of Pisagua, Chile. It deffunnuttullie is a sea lion colony.

Sailing Exodos I think there is some confusion with this in South America. Anyway, these animals have differences in an appearance.

@@ReriRita Haha, could be. I'm not an animal specialist. I just film them now and then :-)

I see lots of predators esp the bigger birds, I wonder what are the odds of those things surviving to adulthood? Plus the fact they are stew material for some cultures.

I think they are too big for those birds. And the bulls defend them fearlessly. I have seen videos about males that try to distract big sea predators, while risking their own lives, to save youngsters. And by the way, this is a wildlife sanctuary, and the villagers partly live from the tourism that comes for the colony.

Is it bad that I just want to see one of them fall, and then suffer several impalements on the way down, but survive the splat on the bottom rock just in time for newborn junior to see mom eat it? Is that bad?

Just pathetic and childish... But hey, chances are big that you still ARE a child.

It's a good indication that you're probably psychologically damaged and didn't have a very good childhood.😢
