@@shelbyrice1014 Generally not. Though well-capable of severely injuring or even killing a person, they are not aggressive unless they feel a person is posing a threat or encroaching too close, mostly when they are on land. If you do that, yes, you can expect to get hurt, and I wouldn't bet against it being bad. There are all sorts of scuba diving excursions all over the world where there are sea lions and fur seals (which are just hairier sea lions) and the sea lions love to playfully swim around, do water acrobatics, and touch and gently mouth the swimmers' flippers, etc. There are the occasional incidents with plain non-interaction-intending swimmers that weren't aware of sea lion territories they might be intruding on, but it's never almost never worse than a warning nip. I've heard of a couple of real attacks but it still wasn't done with any real objective intent to maim or kill the person. Just respect them, watch to make sure you're not causing them obvious discomfort with your presence at a respectful distance, and you'll likely be OK. Never try to do something incredibly stupid like pet, sit on, shake hands with, put your child on, pick up baby sea lions, take selfies with., etc. wild sea lions (or any wild animal).

But that lady and the guy feeding the california sea lion and the South American sea lion next to him really flubbed up. The guy should have made sure he had the Cali's attention, making sure it didn't move to the right but rather to the left, and the woman shouldn't have continued feeding with the cali intruding on the South American one, and she really shouldn't have dropped the bucket. They're not going to mob her and take the bucket from her. Those two handlers didn't seem to be well-trained themselves in interacting with the sea lions.
