Finally the moment is here, Kevin Escoffier and Jean le Cam meet up with the Navy several days after the heroic rescue mission off of The Cape of Good hope, after Kevin's IMOCA had suffered a large hull breach and the skipper had to abandon ship. Marking another turning point in de race for Vendee Globe veteran, who will now join the rest of the race again, and continue his way around the world in Yes we Cam. You can probably guess who the Sunday Coffee toast will be dedicated to today.
Also, we discuss the forced abandon of Sam Davis from the race yesterday and the psychology of this hard, and almost cruel aspect of the race. It's all or nothing, my personal input on that will follow.
Of-course we look at the current state of the fleet and the situation on board with Louis Burton who has been battling auto-pilot problems for the last 20 hours now. Will he be able to get back into the race?!
We do an update on the Jules Verne Trophee and more!
We will discuss it all, with Coffee.
