Chemeen and karikku olarthiyathu
200g Prawns( medium size white paeans )
1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
1 tsp spicy chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup medium thick tenderloin coconut
1 piece Malabar tamarind
Curry leaves
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 tsp coconut oil
1/4 cup water
Marinate prawns with above ingredients
In a clay pot add marinated with 1/4 cup water and cook for 2 minutes. Set this aside
In a non stick pan add oil then add 5 to 6 crushed shallots, once the onions turn brown add the cooked prawns and dry roast for 5 minutes and garnish with more curry leaves
Meenpeera
200 g anchovy ( kozhuva )
5 shallots
2 tbs coconut oil
6 to 7 green chilies
Small pieces of ginger
3 garlic cloves
1 cup coconut
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
3 small Malabar tamarind
Crush shallots, green chillies, ginger,garlic and add to the cooking vessel then add coconut oil , 2 to 3 pieces Malabar tamarind , mix everything together then add anchovies, mix well and cook on low flame for 7 minutes, then off the flame and add curry leaves and raw coconut oil
