Years ago when I was young and dumb, an AA young man came knocking at my apt door trying to sell me magazines. This was years before anyone had PC’s of course! I opened the door and he showed me various magazines, one of which was an auto magazine I knew my husband would like. The price was $20.00 for an entire year. I went to get my checkbook but he said he could only take cash 💰. Red flag right? Anyway, I handed him the cash and I never received anything but he did, he pocketed the $20.00 but, I learned a valuable lesson and never fell for that scam again!! 😐

He told the kid he used the wrong product on my hardwood floors and he needed to clean it all immediately. Kid started yelling and screaming at his boss and got fired on the spot. I had a salesman who spoke to my dad who left his number in the door. My dad never called him back. I’m 47. I take care of him at times doing housework as he’s 75. The following day or two days later the salesman comes back. I spoke to him through a window. I told him we weren’t interested. He asked if he could speak to my father. Again I’m telling the guy “Not interested.” The salesman replies “Interested in what?” I said, “Leave!” He still stands there looking. I raised my hand to his face saying “Leave! Get outta here!” He finally walks down the stairs in low voice saying he tried. I hated being like that, but dang.

Here in Florida you only have to ask them to leave once and after that you get them a trespass warning which means if they enter your property at any future date it's instant trip to jail. That might not seem like much but if enough people do this the one time they come back for a second trip that judge will throw the book at them. That's 60 days in jail and a $500 fine. Put signs up warning against trespassing and you don't need to warn them. All you got to do is call the police and they go right off to jail. I have "NO TRESPASSING!" signs at my property and at the door and it also says no soliciting. I rarely have problems with sales people.
