John Searle proposed that Illocutionary acts are classified into five.
1) ASSERTIVES - present the state of affairs or the belief of the speaker.
2) DIRECTIVES - the speaker is expecting the listener to perform the speech act.
3) COMMISSIVES - the speaker is also the performer of the speech act or the speaker states something to be done in the future.
4) EXPRESSIVES - the speaker expresses thoughts and emotions toward a particular event.
5) DECLARATIONS - the speaker has the special authority that can cause change by just saying words.
