I worked for Sears in its heydays ... (60s thru 70s) a good salesman made a great living there....they paid great commissions. I sold vacuum cleaners, ....they offered iconic brands, Kenmore, Craftsman. Whirlpool, etc.. "Satisfaction Or Your Money Back" made famous by Sears... Sears was the pinnacle of the shopping experience it was wonderful...Everyone shopped at Sears... it wasn't a mall mess. Other stores, big and small, were clustered around a huge tree lined atrium with old fashion gaslight poles, fountains, and sculptures around every bend .... Woolworths, Pennys, Walgreen, Famous Barr .. The Shopping center was a family adventure ...they had outdoor fountains and even music in the round.. The Fatted Calf fire grilled a gourmet Angus steakburger to die for....Then all the discount stores started eating away at them.. Shoppers World, Grampa Pigeons, Shoppers Fair, Venture, Target, Kmart, then Walmart, Amazon, on and on.. til death by a thousand cuts....Sad to see them go out that way... corporate raiders... finished the job..

Sears Canada, which was majority owned by Sears, was doing better than its parent company in the U.S. At one point, there was a very large special dividend paid out to the shareholders, thus sucking out much of the remaining cash. Sears (USA), being the majority owner got most of that cash. Sears Canada might have survived a restructuring but instead headed for bankruptcy, then liquidation. In the end, workers got no severance nor termination pay. There was a payment out of a hardship fund, but that money was deducted by the government out from their (un)employment benefits. So, really they got nothing. Also, the pensioners now have no pension at all.

KATHY T.: Amazon had a very little part in the demise of Sears. Sears is in this position by design. They were purchased by a hedge fund and saddled with enormous and unnecessary debt. This hedge fund is also a big player in real estate, and Sears locations(property) are worth more than the branding and merchandise combined. What's happening to Sears is what happened to Toys R Us, and Mitt Romney's hedge fund was instrumental in that. This is what happens when society accepts deregulation and no accountability, because unfettered capitalism is great and the American way. Once again, this system is proving that it doesn't breed competition, rather, consolidation.

The company stopped giving raises since the original merger, they stopped contributions to employees' 401Ks and they restructured the company to eliminate full time positions (all so they could reduce the benefits that came with it.. medical insurance, paid sick days, etc). Uniforms were changed but the employees were responsible for buying their own, job titles were changed and signs were changed. But no investment was ever made into upgrading or even maintaining basic equipment or shelves in the stores. As soon as the company begins to make a profit, things will get better. That is what was said by corporate while executives continued to collect bonuses. Now many employees left at existing stores make the same hourly wages as an entry level employee even if their job title includes lead. And if you've worked at a company for over twenty years and then get told you're only getting four weeks of severance pay... hard pill to swallow.

Sears was extremely profitable before Eddie Lampert bought it! The first thing Eddie Lampert did when he took over Sears was to cut employee benefits, matching 401k and medical insurance! When Lampert filed for bankruptcy, he canceled millions of dollars in open orders with deposits on them! He screwed all his hard-working commissioned employees and took all the money they generated to prop up his real-estate business! He then shafted all his suppliers by not paying them which hurt the employees even more because no one would extend credit to Sears Holding! He also shafted all his customers as well! Eddie Lampert is a real dirt-bag and I hope he goes to prison, but I'm not holding my breath! The bankruptcy judges were totally soft on Eddie Lampert and let him get away with murder! He should be forced to pay anyone who worked for Sears Holding a severance fee and deny "ALL" managers any bonuses! That money belongs to the people that worked for Sears, not to the BILLIONARE thieves that have stolen from it! If the bankruptcy judges had any balls, that's exactly what they should do, but they're probably being paid off by Lampert and his goons! The Bankruptcy judge should seize all property and assets owned by Eddie Lampert and give the money generated by those seizures to Sears Holding employees! This is an example of corporate fraud on a grand scale, and Eddie Lampert has crushed so many people both financially and mentally!

@@russgrebenc7923 The idea of this video is that management is bad. If management was so bad then why are your shop-your-way points still good and you can buy stuff there still? Do you realize once a company goes chap 11, the lawyers are the ones that usually get it all. Eric Moore wrote an article seekingalpha.com/article/4222440-sears-holdings-bankruptcy-always-mean-broke . You used to able to read the whole article but it closed to members now. Sometimes when a company goes into chap 11, many times the shareholders get nothing and the company is liquidated. This often occurs when there is book value and cash flows to pay the shareholders back. The problem is the management is dishonest and want to take a company via bankruptcy. The SEC is worth little, virtually every private equity deal is fraudulent, they do nothing. They try to take companies below intrinsic value and all they do is try to collect majority vote, if the vote is even counted. Many times they probably borrow shares to vote, I would not be surprised. Michael Dell is a scumbag, that changed the rules of his vote so that if you did not vote it, it would not be counted. How do I know employees are not cheated? Very easy all they deserve is a paycheck. They got their paycheck. In a small business, a mom and pop, many maybe even most of the time they don't even give the correct paychecks. They cheat because they are small and dishonest. So to say they deserve more than a paycheck, is no more than stealing. So do you see the trend here. Employees want to screw the shareholder, the management wants to screw the shareholder, the sec wants to screw the shareholder, the liberal wants to screw the shareholder. Who is the shareholder? The shareholder is the minimum wage guy that washes cars, cleans houses, and works 9-5 at a job he hates.

One simple question.. Are those executives Jewish? Yes or no? Your answer is the real answer. (I am niether American, nor interested in living in America (Jewish run America)), I am an Arab, from the Middle East, and living happily everafter, praise Allah/ God. Anyways, we Arabs are Semites too, and we are the cousins of Jews, so we know them better than anyone else, trust me. Anywho, It seems to us non-Americans that the Jewish folks at the top, as well as their richest Christian friends, have shaped America, and the businesses run in America, and the "rules of play" in their favor!! They made it in a way where the poor stay poor and small business lose easily, while big companies get out of trouble winning! So, basically when the weak "wins" he actually loses more, and when the powerful loses he actually ALSO wins!! Again!! They rigged the system so that "oppertunities in America", (the new land of dreams), is no longer a place where big businesses can florish anymore!! Only those who are from their own circles, i.e. Jewish or related to their supporters, do recieve cuts and more relaxed rules and can actually make it big.. :^) Christian mom and pa shops lost their businesses while the Jewish corporations grew exponentially!.. A Christian restaurant gets to be checked out throughtly by a Jewish government agent to check for faults and misconduct, while a Jewish restaurant gets no fines whatsoever and the Jewish agents drinks tea with the Jewish restaurant owner while getting his list checked "execellent" in all fields.. Another example, any new non Jewish business gets destroyed through "tax on everything" while Jewish trade gets cuts.. They made it so deficult, there is tax on income, tax on property, tax on import, tax on export, sale tax (both sides, shop and customer), even TAX ON INVENTORY!! Like WTF?? In Islam? ALL TAXES ARE FORBIDDEN!! (Even in Judaism, (but not on Goyem)). To be honest, taxes in America are actually considered ANTI-ENRICHMENT TAXES!!! What are anti-enrichment taxes? They are taxes designed to stop you from growing or make you grow extremely slow.. mostly designed and implemented by Jews throught history to slow down the wealth gain by the Goyem.. While big Jewish conglaramates get tax cuts (under the excuse "we make Jobs, give us a break", smaller people get destroyed!! Seriously, the Jews are fucking your America up, and you are OK with that??? You know what tax on income actually is? It is a theft where they take that sweet, very sweet spot of precentage that grants growth to your business!! The precentage that God puts his blessing in to help you grow rich and have a life.. They know it!! These people conduct social and economic studies all the time!! Making business in America today is like blowing in a punctured baloon.. unless you are Jewish.. because Jews are in all government offices snd they hold the data.. Weak people cant influence the country!! One of the reasons they do it, is because they knew that money = power!! The moment others start climbing the ladder of power they start influencing the congress!! With bribes or without! They know that!! So they take away your growth precentage to keep you weak!! With no voice!! People, please understand, these elites PRINT MONEY!! They DON'T NEED YOURS!! They need to stop you from growing financially!! And thus not gaining power!! And this is the rule for the game they are playing.. America is not a land of oppertunities anymore, otherwise, why do start-up companies in Silicon Vally and other places leave America?? :^) Solution?? BAN AAAAAALLL TAXES!!! And God's blessing will come down on oeople and their wellfare!! I don't know but somebody a while ago here on KZitem made a video about a certain EU country where they stopped or reduced all taxes, their country managed to come out of their national dept, everyone became rich and they became one of the leading financial powers in the EU.. I forgot which country.. but the video maker drew a comparision between that country and Amercia.. it was interesting.. :^) But.. ehh.. you Evangalics love your Jewish folks.. you support Israel for Biblical reasons.. What one can do.. ?

TheRealNews, please consider placing William K. Black's name in the title. I specifically look for his videos and I'm sure many others do as well. Thank you!
