I wonder, do you guys think that the reason Bender said he was enjoying his thousand years in the sand has to do with his computational power? Bear with me, I think it's possible that Bender may have created a simulated universe and dived into it to live the next 1,000 years in his own private world. The reason I guessed that is because it's odd that he didnt get lonely with all that time by himself. Also he is a robot created 1,000 years in the future. As such, I think it's reasonable to assume he'd have the technological requirements to do something like that.
