Embarrassing drops. Dropped my wife's 75 CB550 in our driveway. Parked front wjeel forward, in the sloped end of our driveway. Shut it down, and went to get off. Bike and I both went down, right in front of my wife and daughter. Note to self. Put it in gear, and use the kill switch. That or tie off the front brake lever.

All for lane filtering....problem is the same with the heltmet thing though. One idiot going 70 through stopped traffic slams into the back of a car and bounces off three others and makes you pay for the rider. If it was stopped traffic filtering to the front I think more people would be on board. However California is not Ohio or Georgia or Texas. Where I live if I filtered to the front next to a truck that idiot would kill me trying to race me in a race I didnt even know I was part of.

Tis very much a shame but I suppose all good things must come to end. So, we bid farewell to season 6 and wait with baited breath for season 7. I think 3 -4 bikes is good. Ultimately I would like to have a cruiser and a sport naked to go with my tourer. I'd go ride the GS, save the Honda, and burn the SV650. Ride the CBR, save the R6, burn the GSXR. I concur motorcycles should not have to pay tolls and should definitely get reduced rates for parking. Splitting/filtering should be 50 state legal and just because you can do it doesn't mean you have to, let the rider decide. The key to splitting/filtering is driver and rider education. All need to be informed as to the rules and punishments must be severe. Well here in N.J. we have provisional drivers licenses for those under 18, so a tiered motorcycle license wouldn't be that much of a stretch. I agree it's a good idea but will probably never happen. I stand with Turbo Bruce!! The only thing with turbos you kind of defeat the cheap transportation argument as turbos generally require premium gas. Im like 2 and 9 this season so hoping I get this one right. Sounds like a single cylinder dirtbike to me. Maybe a DRZ 400? Is that a Royal Enfield 350? Oh well 2 and 10, oof! ONly thing I would like to see for season 7 is you guys back on the correct side of the screen.

Great episode guys, came for Jeremiah cause I’m a big Donut fan. Can’t wait for next season. All love, but I think you’re approaching the lane splitting debate wrong and I believe it’s important. It’s really important that we convince the rest of America, not just riders. The trade off for our sacrifice argument is flawed, they’ll easily dismiss that with - I’m not making that choice you are. It needs to be paired with facts about congestion and other benefits to everyone, not just riders. Also, the distinction between filtering and splitting is really important. IMO filtering is absolutely common sense and we really stand a chance getting it passed nationally unlike splitting.

California has a very large motorcycle community, but the track riding community is still very small and concentrated in clicks. It is also a total truth that doing a track day without some guidence can be a horrific experience. I know I was fortunate that I have friends who supported this endeaver and I have paid it forward with others who I have encountered that was interested in track riding.

i lane split in texas, but hypothetically, if it weren't possible... i would still ride. i don't ride because it's faster, or because it uses less gas, or whatever other reasons husbands come up with to tell their wives... i ride because it's fun. even without lane splitting, it's still approximately thirty seven million four hundred and twenty three thousand times more fun than driving.

When I rode in the eighties nobody I rode with lane split. I have been past by two motorcycles lane splitting on the interstate on the pipe at 90+, stupid and dangerouus for everybody. Lane splitting at a stop light maybe.

not everyone hates when you lane split. i do it constantly in Texas, and it's not very common for someone to honk or flash their lights. a lot of the time, people will actually move over slightly when they see me coming. not sure if it's because they're scared of me hitting their car, or they're trying to be nice, but i like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they're being nice, so i always wave or nod. i've even had people scoot over a bit and wave me around through the window, when traffic is really bad. of course i've also had people swerve over to try and scare me, or even to try and completely block me off (whom i also always give a kindly wave). but they're the very rare exception. so it's not a universal hatred like some people try to make it seem.

All the time and effort you put in mate I think you should leave the bike as it is. 1 looks fantastic, 2 the option should you decide to use it to travel is always there and thirdly again all the time and effort not to mention money you put in to making it the way it is now would be such a shame to revert back to stock. All great videos though in the build and thoroughly enjoyable 😊

I found this podcast back in season 2 and I've learned more on the world of motorcycling here than anywhere else. I do have a very important question though. Back in 2018 I drove (with two friends) a 1999 Suzuki Wagon R+ all the way from the Netherlands through Iran and Central Asia to Mongolia, and I've wanted to do that same trip on a motorbike ever since. I also own a 2010 BMW F650GS (the 30-year anniversairy edition), but that bike is so beautifull and practical that I want to take something else on that return trip to Mongolia. Since you, Zack, are an expert on long trips on shitty bikes, what motorcycle would you recommend that will get you to Mongolia but only barely? I've been thinking about a Honda Monkey but my body might not really survive that...

Thanks Spurg and Zac for consistently ensuring women are brought into this conversation. As a female motorcyclist, a lot vlogs, podcasts etc say things like 'when a guy passes' or 'out with your bros' which doesn't feel welcoming. We know 90 something percent are probably male, but acknowledging that anyone can ride may help change that number. Thank you for mentioning women every time Jeremiah didn't.

RE is probably buying the engineering skill to make cheap, light electric street bikes. They probably have thoughts of converting the Stark drivetrain; I don't see them branching out into dirt bikes any time soon. They might not even care about the 'existing' bike.
