Second Holmes is a six-part BBC Radio 4 comedy series that aired in 1983. The show follows the adventures of the grandsons of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson in contemporary times. The series was written by Grant Eustace and portrayed Holmes as idle and easily bored, only doing any work as a consulting detective to provide Watson with material for the Sunday papers. Despite its billing as a comedy, the program was very light in touch rather than slapstick. The show starred Peter Egan as Stamford Holmes and Jeremy Nicholas as "Doctor" Watson.
