YO I wanna clarify some stuff not mentioned in the video. ORAS (gen 3 remakes) did bring back secret bases, so gen 6 'did' have bases but by 6 I just meant the next region game. I didnt mention oras because I figured it would just be repeating myself, I did use blissey bases to grind exp but otherwise it didnt deviate that far from the original bases, in my memory Also, HGSS actually removed room decorations (and didnt substitute in bases). But pokemon follow you so idc ill take that trade Lastly, Oldschool Runescape has added some cool shit to construction that wasnt present back in the old days (portal nexus, etc). i just focused on the change to rs3 but in hindsight that deserved a mention as well

Speaking of Runescape, there was this one quest where a boss amazon ships themselves into your house in a giant box, they jump out and just start smashing down the all walls of your house and flinging you through all your furniture. It boils down to spaghetti code. OSRS did a lot of work on the coding for construction so there were a lot of improvements there, whereas RS3 needs to do a complete overhaul, which keeps getting ignored or pushed back. They have been reworking some skills though, so it's not out of the realm of possibility, it's definitely on the community's mind.

They did brought back secret bases in the Sinnoh remakes... And make them worse. Now there are just garages full of statues rather than a place to call second home. They even remove the catching the flag minigame too! Ps: Your comparison with Rust and Fallout 76 bases can also being called Castles VS Palaces VS Homes. A castle is builded to be more functional, it was meant to protect and defend you of posible attackers and stop them of stealing your resources. Meanwhile a palace is a place to flaunt around how much stuff you got and to show all your trophies and belongings. And last the third type, the ones from Skyrim, there are homes, you go there to rest and to gather stuff to prepared yourself for your next adventure. Which funny enough Zelda Breath of the Wild house fails in all three, is not a castle because it doesn't need to be defended, is somewhat of a palace but not really because the decoration is very limited, and is not a home at all because you cannot do nothing there.

Nah. This video isn't a culmination of this time, just something I kicked out over the last month in lieu of the bigger video i've been chipping at across the hiatus. There's a lot of reasons for the gap, some of it for that other project but the rest just bad work ethic and some personal stuff that made it hard to center myself again. But i'm moving (which fixes the personal stuff) and with this video i'm hoping to get back into a better work ethic, and maybe not overthink what i put out quite as much. I can't say i'll be uploading here monthly by any stretch but I definitely don't want to piss away time like I have been anymore.
