@@Grammichal Bloody heck, what a bizarre thing to say, imho. I firmly believe people are not more prone to loving "dark" ways of living. This is a bit of that whacky or what appears to be extreme way of thinking many types of American Christians & their religions are very much known for by the rest of the western world (and my sister & a few friends of mine are some of them). I've work over here in England in customer service for almost 15 years, and I get asked by strangers often enough about this, and I'm asked if I am personally one of "THOSE" Americans. It's talked about here in the UK by all forms of media when anything horrendous happens in the US where religion and or cults are the topic. They talk about the extremes of many Christian Americans and how they so closely resemble Islamic extremists. At the end of the day, most people just want to get up and get through their day with the least amount of drama or negatives happening as possible. They aren't thinking about good vs evil. Decent people do decent things, bad people do bad things. I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend you. I've read so SO many of your comments in this whole thread, so far, and you have really good & interesting things to say, but this is just too much, imo. I live in the UK where 48% of the population are not believers. And that's okay. All the non believers I know, and I'm not talking about Athiests, are just good and decent people who would absolutely help anyone if they needed it. Its a great way to live within a community. Not everyone needs to share the beliefs that are so very much believed in in the US. I'm saying this as a US expat. I know Christians back home on the West Coast and Ohio who wouldn't for 1 moment think of helping if someone desperately needed a hand. My old church wouldn't help me in my very temporary time of need 40 years ago. I turned my back on religion for many reasons decades ago and I'm a better person for it. And thank goodness I've found my tribe here in England, where people don't preach their good deeds but actually keep their mouths shut and get on with doing good or neighborly deeds, minus religion or spirituality. Oh my, my rant is over. I sincerely apologise for my tangent and I hope you do not feel personally attacked or very offend. I respect you and that you have deep beliefs. But life isn't just about religion for millions of people. Especially decent folks.

This is a deep concern for me, but not as broad as all cults. There's an alarming trend of members of the LDS church who are doing this shit and I think it's a bigger issue than people are realizing. To this day the Mormon church STILL has not released a statement disavowing Chad/Lori's beliefs OR Jodi Hildebrandt and Ruby Franke. It took too long to excommunicate Chad and Lori, and Jodi/Ruby are still members of the church. Jodi is discussing her Patriarchal Blessing on her jail calls and Ruby is receiving visits from her Bishop. I do not know what if any consequences the Thibaudeau's are facing, but thank goodness they were stopped at the Alaska/Canada border because I firmly believe that 16 year old child would have not be found alive. These people are all in different states but appear to have similar delusions of grandeur with a strong emphasis on demons and the end times. I grew up LDS, I lived through the panic hoarding of Y2K, but these cases are unlike anything I've ever heard of before. The fact that it hasn't been immediately addressed by the church is only proving to the world that they are complicit. I want to know just how many more people are going to be deleted in the name of Mormon God before they put a stop to this horrific trend.

What is so horrifying is how a mom could distance herself emotionally from her children to the extent these people did. I guess love of themselves made them incapable of truly loving anyone else, even their own children. And Melanie kept seeking out these people that said her children were dark. A sane person would have steered far away from these creeps.

Why tf isn't Melani asking where are the kids? These people are truly dumb asf. Melani's father blocked the entire Cox family as he raised her after Stacy was murdered by Alex. But what can you do once they are over 18. It's so frustrating I know 1st hand. My ex was a narcissist who beat me for years til I was able to escape. She had made buddies with him as an adult. She wanted to get a car or money from him but she slowly realized he is crazy and can't be trusted. I still can't believe Melani-niece has unsupervised visits with her children after being involved in attempted murder of Brandon and saying her kids would be in heaven with Alex. Same shite that L Ron Hubbard spewed as a penny a word sciencefictiction writer of comic books stories in the late 1920s through 40s before he created Dianetics and the "church" of Scientology. The basis for that cult is that people from a far away galaxy were kidnapped and brought to Earth by the Galactic tyrant Xenu where he froze their souls and dropped them into a volcano, then blew up the volcano and those soles went up to a transplant station near either the moon or Mercury to get brainwashed into believing in the world's religions. Then brought back down here to be religious as a way of making them forget about their origins and to start fighting all other religions that weren't their own, like far too many do today. It's all hogwash bs. But some people absolutely eat this shite up! It's nuts 😳
