My cable management was a mess before, but I found that the convenience of having it all in one package made me motivated to clean up my cables and properly cable manage. I never got around to doing it with my old desk as I would have had to buy the cable management options. Whether that premium to have it all in one package is worth it for you is up to the end user. For me it was quite convenient and I appreciate secret labs build quality with other products I bought from them. I sit at my desk so much that realistically no price is too premium.

Thank you for this video, was exactly the comparison I needed now that I'm considering buying the desk. Don't know which way I'll go yet. It was funny watching you critique the desk in a secretlab chair but the review was very fair and insightful! I think what everyone is missing is that its also way faster to build this and it will look way better than an average DIY desk, not including cable management. For those reasons, I think the price is right.

Well, I didn't say chair was bad! My main issue with their desks is the price, especially if you look at their sit and stand variants. They charge you a premium for a desk they build with generic parts.I also have a video about chairs and secretlab is one of the contestants, so if you are looking at different brands, check it out too!

@sam musso I'm yet to test it, but read the reviews on herman miller website directly, this chair sounds like a cheap gimmic. Of course the big KZitemrs will not say anything bad about it as they are being sponsored, so key is to look at actual reviews. In my honest opinion, herman miller is just overpriced for no reason. It's one of those items cool to have but makes no difference when compared to other chairs.

The one nice thing about the computer mount is that you can actually put a modern computer in it. Most are way to small... and cannot accept most Fractal cases, Lian Li O11d/Evo, Corsair 5000D. So that is a huge plus to be honest.

Perhaps! They don't make it though, buying it from third party, rebrand and sell it as something that nothing like this has ever existed is just not right 🤓

Thanks for honest review. I almost triggered, and bought it, than saw your video and few others, wich mentioned it wobble a lot. You haven't said anything about this, bug guess others are right. Wonder if even exist adjustable desk that doesn't wobble? Seen lot of them suffers to that. Even premium ones. But I might missing something.
@RomanDoes

I didn't notice any serious wobble with any standup desks including the Magnus Pro. It might depend on how people load it. You have to remember to spread the weight of your gear equally on these desks as you have 2 dedicated motors lifting it.

It’s a very convenient product that’s pretty practical and flexible. Don’t have to waste much time finding seperate products, has that all-in-one high quality feel but you pay a premium which may not matter if your time is worth more, or claim the desk on tax

It's good to see a video from the consumer view summarizing why-not to buy one because you end up buying marketing and branding on something that is mainstream like a desk. Nowadays there is a new player following a similar strategy. I would like to watch about your opinion about Crossair's Platform 6.

hmmn some really good tips I'm not a fan of sit/standing desk anyway I get up and walk around anyway but seems cool I didn't use that feature at all at last job due to short cords but the first time I used it almost couple of years ago. The setup was nice to go along with my cubicle chatting with my neigbors. But the DIY tips like amazon dual frame etc.. sounds fun to build simialr to SL pro.

absolutely, my point was though, if you don't have money to buy it, don't stretch your budget. It's just a desk made of third party sourced parts that can be done cheaper and have the same functionality at the end. My whole channel is about not overpaying for a shiny box just because someone said it's the best out there.

Thanks for this video man! I was actually thinking about getting the desk but the price is not worth it. I do like the aesthetic and the management control but I already do that myself. I will probably follow your advice and get the frame through Amazon. Couple of questions though. What's the difference between dual and single motor? Any solutions for attaching a power bar below or to the leg of the desk?
@RomanDoes
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Single motor is weaker and requires shaft to drive both legs. With double motor you have better lift capacity and motors are hidden inside each leg = cleaner look as a bonus. In regards to attaching things to frame or under the desk top, look for either double sided tape by gorilla if you want to mount it for good, or I use heavy duty glued velcro strips. These are usually sold in the same isle with picture hanging hooks, etc.

If you live in Canada, check this company: PrimeCables, they sell on Amazon and also have their own website which is cheaper. Desk quality is outstanding as I have 3 frames from them and all are top notch.

I'd really like an XL one, , no addons except the mat, but the biggest issues I have so far that are keeping me from purchasing one are: 1) Other monitor arms apparantly not being able to fit. I bought a duel one I really like for 65 euro. A dual one from them is 259 euro.. Ouch 2) Apparently the table's a bit wobbly. Pushing it against the wall would supposedly fix it.. I need to know for sure. I've been trying to find more info on these two topics in reviews and holding off my purchase until then. If it turns out these two points are proven I will just go DIY and save myself a nice ammount of money.

Sit/stand frames are very sturdy, so I assume Magnus Pro is the same, unlike the standard Magnus on 4 legs. Plus, you cannot push sit/stand desk against wall, as one button press all it takes to ruin your wall 🤓

In regards to monitor arms, it's a trial and error process with Magnus. They knew about it, but instead of solving the issue made their own mount at a premium cost.
