I laughed out loud on the differences between birder and bird photographer. Go go go and sit and wait. WOW, so true. I’m a photographer. I love to sit and wait for that moment when the light, background, perch, and subject come together. I would rather get a great picture of a common bird, than chase a life list! I’m intrigued by behavior and capturing some of the environment. Those are sit and wait moments!

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I'm with you 100%. I don't have a checklist. I'd much rather capture an artistic shot of a common bird, than run after a rare bird in bad light. 😁

Great interview! Most valuable thing I learned in this interview was that Matt is a fan of The Office 😉 Love the questions and thoughts shared by Travis. Great to hear his backstory and how he’s learned to make it as a Creator, loved his perspectives on beginners and how to help them out. I’ll debate that hyper-consistency though, I post less then ever currently but am growing faster than when I posted 4x as much. For me, quality over quantity has proved way more effective than trying to pump out a video constantly

Haha! Yeah, I love The Office. Are you a fan? As far as consistency goes, I think that it depends on the platform and it depends how long you've been posting on a platform. If you're just starting out, it seems that posting frequently and consistently is necessary. Once you've established a community, the quality over quantity approach can work effectively. I've seen successful creators double down and almost post too much content...and it seems that some platforms almost see it as spam and throttle reach.

@@matthewgehly you’re definitely right about that, there is a lot of value to getting the reps in during your early days as opposed to after getting established
