I agree with the comment below; many analysts, including CMB now put too much emphasis on hair colour. As this can change with hair dye, with fading in the sun, with age, not sure this is a good indicator of colour grouping. I preferred it when hair was totally covered for draping analysis. Also, although skin and eyes can change over time, they are not going to be changed as easily as hair, which can change shades in a few hours. I would put 50% on skintone, 30% on eye colour and only 20% on hair colour.

I completely agree!!! Your skin is the most important aspect when it comes to colour analysis. Im a light spring, but my eyes are somewhat medium-light, and my hair is medium-light, my facial features besides my eyes blend in and are very low contrast. I have very fair light neutral warm beige skin, and I don't like the emphasis on hair and eyes colour, because as you said, it changes. I used to be light brown/ blonde with blonde warmth to my hair when I was a child, now it's fudge hair with blonde tinge. My skin thrives in off whites, creams, ivory, khaki, warm greyslight peach, even sultry light colours with a tad bit of softness plays really well with my slightly softened eyes. Springs can really play off those eyes you know! And they dont always have to be GEMS who made that up?! . Your hair and eyes are mostly a guide for what kind of contrasts are up against your skin, low, high, medium? And how high or low your saturation is but dosent determine your own skins temperature, its colouration, tone. Maybe im wrong, but there are so many nuances to colour analysis, and so many different outcomes to what a person could be depending on all of theyre own unique features, and what they're own specific attribute or attributes are LIGHT, SOFT, DARK, DEEP, BRIGHT, WARM, OR COOL? . You put it very eloquently that skin is 50% , and that your features change as they get older. Totally get that and thankyou for mentioning that.

my golden almost strawberry hair did not really work with Navy, I was better with gray or teal, now with platinum hair the Navy is a great neutral and looks fab! I was in the group before the first Color Me Beautiful book. and for some reason black and white works for me, which according to spring it should not! In the test run with swatches, it was agreed the neutral of black worked for me better than the Navy blue.

Just because hair color can change doesn't mean it shouldn't be a large factor in you color analysis, especially if someone has long hair. If anything it should dissuade from the notion that people are supposed to have this permanent lifetime idea of what color palette works for them. Eyes can look dramatically different in certain lighting, and while tanning may not change temperature it obviously has a huge affect on the overall balance of elements, or else nobody would do it.

absolutely agree- it’s primarily about the way the skin reacts. people can “look like” certain seasons just visually on the surface, but then turn out to be something completely different than you thought!

Bright is actually my secondary feature. Warmth is my dominant "leaving the scene of the crime" characteristic. The CMB Tonal across the pond calls me warm and clear which is a different palette than clear and warm.

I enjoy your videos a lot! One thing i find a bit limiting is focusing so much on hair and eye color and putting more emphasis on this over skin tone. Tbh i you can only tell for sure if you drape someone and see how their skin reacts. I prefer this approach because it's way more inclusive to people who don't fit the typical image of their season. I still enjoy watching the way you use color analysis though.

Amy Adams looks amazing in black (see her in Nocturnal Animals, I mean, come on!) she just adjusts her makeup for higher contrast. this is why the 6 feature color analysis is best!

I was a chestnut brownish red head when I was younger and then my teenage years my hair darkened and had hints on red when the sun hit my hair. I have medium neutral skin and blue grey eyes. I was told that I was a Royal Winter but I don’t know if I agree

I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes with gold in them. I also have freckles. I'm sure that I'm in the warm family but having a hard time figuring out if I'm a spring or an autumn. I do not look good in mustard yellow, but I do look good in the lime green. I'm wondering where this puts me on the color wheel. I feel like I don't fit into the descriptions given 😕

Neutral types, may have a mix of cool/warm eye colour and hair colour. I am a light spring or a medium light spring, I have soft neutral or cool brown hair, and a mix of greenish/greyish and blueish eyes. My eyes and my hair are more darker in terms of contrast than my skin. Its more about how your skin reacts to the colours of clothes, the contrast between your features, saturation, contrast, lightness to darkness, should be reflected in your clothes. Neutral warm springs, can have shared similarities to the other seasons determining where they sit on the seasonal wheel. Soft spring, light spring, bright spring. Im a light spring, but i would say my hair, and my eyes look, light and tinted with colour. My main attribute is LIGHT, then slightly warm. My eyes are clear and light even though they are grey, because they are also somewhat greenish, the green has yellow and blue in it. I have dusky pink lips, with a neutral warm hue to it my teeth are slightly yellow white. I have an issue with alot of the colour analysis, that dont primarily say, you should focus on your attribute, are your features light, dark, deep, soft, bright, warm, cool? They say you can really only have blonde hair and clear green blue, eyes for light spring, when really alot of people have mixed features, you can have grey eyes, brown eyes, greenish blue eyes, you can have similarities with the summer pallete, its neutral for a reason. Meaning you are only slightly leaning to one or the other, but have these extreme guidines for the lightness category. Historically because of my hair colour, eye colour, then Im not a light spring, even though my skin needs light tints, look horrible in black and even any amount of brown, grey, or colour makes my face look muddy and boxy. I can only really wear light peach highlighters, look great with tints of colour, even deep brown mascara is too harsh on my eyes. Im just sharing my experience. . I would say its all about doing the process on you, some colour analysis guides are worse and better than others from what ive learnt. You need to do the research, find as many articles, blogs as you can, spring is all about either lightness, warmth or brightness, aka light spring, warm spring, true spring, or slightly muted soft spring. If youve got any of those in your skin, and features than you are already on the right track. Dont let the you have to be blonde with clear green or blue eyes stop anyone you from thinking you are a spring because you could be potentially. Its about your skin, and what your skin needs

I try to tone down my dark blonde hair to be ash blonde, but it's always golden. Without toning it's dark gold to red. My skin is peach. Eyes are olive brown with gold and a navy blue halo around the iris. Hazel I guess. I assumed I was autumn, but now it's obvious I am spring. Tomato red and coral are excellent on me. Question: bright yellow and pale yellow, any clear yellow, are wonderful on me, but you don't mention it? Since yellow is a powerful color on me, could that mean I am not spring? Muted dusty colors and gray look horrible on me.

I’m a greying bright spring. My hair is a vibrant bright grey, a bit warm still with some copper brown lowlights. I can’t wear any darks anymore, only medium darks in just one colour. Stark White is too cool as well, has to be ivory or bright cream. Bottoms can be a dark like navy, brown or charcoal. It’s hard to take the attention wearing these colours brings. Also very interesting to see peoples reactions, good and bad. But the older I get the more I need to just be myself, if I don’t it’s like I just kinda fade away inside too, so it’s not worth it. Just go for it.

This video is not inclusive at all!! According to the hair parametes alone you exclude any person of color by the virtue of they not having lighter hair. As a south asian I am categorized as warm spring though I have dark brown hair.
