this is 100% hitting home for me. I'm actually an interior designer and have had a pretty curated Notion for a few years now. I have been wondering about sharing and building workflows for other interior design agencies. Thank you for this! Might get up the courage to do it...

Great to hear! And fun fact: I studied and worked in architecture before getting into Notion!

Hi Dave, is notion consulting a good career for someone looking for a long term career in it . I asked this question on the notion reddit page and many people said no, so i decided to ask you as the expert on the matter. So is notion consulting a good career for someone looking for a long term career in it?

This is a tough question! I think the idea of a long-term career in anything is going to become more and more rare. I'm confident Notion consulting is (and will continue to be) an in demand service, as lots of new industries are starting to use Notion. The hardest part is the time it takes to raise awareness, create content, and generate leads before even starting on client work. I think this is where many Notion creators get tripped up, and give up too soon. Personally, I'd say there's a 50-50 change I'm doing this in five years, but I do imagine doing the same work - helping teams get more productive - it'll likely be using a combination of tools, not just Notion. Hope that helps!

@@TheNotionCoach Thanks Dave, a really thoughtful answer. So should one look to upskill in other tools ? Which would you suggest ?

@Robert-sb1fp definitely automation tools like Zapier/Make. I think there's benefit in building knowledge around work systems in general, like project management, OKRs, or knowledge management. Most small/medium sized companies rarely. Have systems in place for stuff like this.
