I will ask my son for help on that one I'm not too good at this stuff but I'll see if I can't get that link up for that lock set it's basically a Kwikset Smart Lock comes in deadbolt and bottom knob for by single locksets as well thank you for watching and participating in the comments I will try to put a link up to that.
it's interesting that they designed the door with such large openings for the latch and deadbolt. Any way to tighten that up so that the door doesn't have all that play when closed?

You could probably put a strike plate on top of the existing area where the hole is but then with just a little bit of movement it probably wouldn't line up they are very sloppy. Thank you for watching.

@@artiemend.3578 Good question sometimes they like to do more than what they really need to run that bill up I believe when they do a security door anything extra is a lot extra just a thought.

What size is the drill bit you use for the one way screw pilot holes?
@ResidentialRepairs

Usually we just size it up to the same size of the core which is basically the overall sizes minus the threads if that helps

Sometimes the level will throw you off because the door jam might be off.

So true we experienced a little bit of that with this door today.

Hopefully you dont have to remove security door to fix the jam.

You are right most likely if we repair the jam the one-strike side will have to come off I usually put a pair of vice grips right on the head and turn it a quarter turn where it's away from the square tubing and then I can put the vice grips on the normal way around the head where I won't scratch the paint and then I'll just remove the strike side and do the repair and then put brand new security bolts back he's not sure if he wants to repair the door or pick out a brand new door and in that case I'll probably end up taking the whole door off if that's the case he's not sure yet but meanwhile while he does his shopping and makes up his mind he wants to feel safe but you're absolutely correct it's most likely going to come off thank you for watching and thank you for participating in the comments.

With all kinds of powerful compact battery-operated tools, your security door will not stand any chance of deterring anyone that wants to get in.

It may not stop people but it'll make them think twice whether they want to do that or find something easier if he's home and it makes a lot of noise trying to get in at least he'll know or the same if he's not home and the neighbor here's it they may be able to make a phone call takes a little bit of work to pop those off.
