Pakistan's Swat valley is beginning to stablise with the help of local police recruits, officials have said.
Life there is returning to normal after a military offensive that officials say pushed Taliban fighters out of the region.
But in an interview with Al Jazeera, the mother of Mullah Fazlullah, the Taliban leader in Swat, she said that her son would never compromise on his demand for sharia, or Islamic law, in the region.
With the military preparing to hand over control to community police, will they be able to ensure security without the country's troops?
