A couple of years ago I was on one of the many hiking trails around Sedona. It was a beautiful day and as I walked I came across some people playing flute music and dancing around with a very large, flowing, flag-like banner. I observed them for a while and moved on. Then, suddenly, as I looked up, I saw it! Eureka!! Right there, before my eyes, hovering over a lovely red rock formation -- there it was! Hallelujah! It was a vortex!! I cried out, "A vortex, I've found a vortex! Oh, sweet wonderful day! A vortex, everybody!!" But no one was interested; no one responded to share my joy over what I had found. A large white circular cloud formation was right up there, floating over the red rocks, for all to see, like a big white donut! But no. No one. Sigh. I walked on. But I'll never forget that glorious day when I laid eyes on my first vortex!!

This was really interesting, Nate. I didn't know these 'votexes' even existed in Sedona. Very cool! 😊😊

I’m flying to Sedona tomorrow! I really, really want to see Cathedral Vortex but I overestimated my abilities on a steep elevation trail in Colorado and I don’t want to experience that ever again, especially not with less experienced hikers than me in tow. However, that was a much much longer hike. I wonder if a much shorter hike even with the crazy uphill would be doable.

Hmm, this interesting, I had never heard of this before. I will say I do feel the desert naturally inspires me, it is very creative.

Thank you! I agree, the desert is calming and spurs creativity as well...there is something extra special about these locations though (well, maybe not the airport vortex).

Thank you, Debbie! Sadly, I'm pretty sure I had a lot better footage that I lost but eventually just had to come to terms to edit it with what I had left. I hope you, Mark, and Adam have a great holiday weekend!
