Thanks for showing the picture at 6:30 that requests that you leave these places off of social media. I was at that cabin this weekend and it was the first time I have seen trash just left in the firewood box. Those cabins don't need the crowd with a lack of respect for what the park service has allowed to remain in the Preserve. There are many people that take them seriously, tidy up and leave it better for the next person. While you are getting clicks, organic circulation to trusted individuals might be a better method. Happy trails.

So glad that volunteers still care for the gentleman's cabin! I always wonder about the lives of people that lived in these remote places, thanks for the video!💕🏜️

How wonderful to see it still together and in such good condition. It's a part of history that can't be redone. Someone looks to be still enjoying it and reliving the past. Thank you for sharing.

Stayed at Rileys several times with my kids. And a few times at the other. I prefer Geer, you can heat it with a fart and the bed frame is surprisingly comfortable. the sunsets at Rileys are epic tho

What a wonderful video. Its great to see them in a preserved and usable state. I also explore and post my finds its always really neat. I just purchased a home built in 1873 with property because i love the old 1800s and I am restoring it to the original look and function of when it was built in 1873. i even have a photo of the family and hoise from 1894 and have been discoving lots of artifacts.

My car capable of getting to Riley’s/geer died and I haven’t found a suitable replacement for a year… usually camp out there several times every year, just checking to make sure it’s still okay - fires came very very close to burning them up a few years back. Hope I can get back there before they inevitably do.

I remember being out in the Mojave desert back in the mid 80's. I was living in L.A. at the time and my next door neighbor was into hunting rabbits. So one day we went out somewhere not far from Victorville. In the afternoon. We hunted until nightfall. That day I remember seeing a mining operations going off in the distance. My friend said it was copper mine. Is that place still there I wonder. But being out in the middle of the Mojave was awesome. Beautiful country yet rugged.

I hear that Mojave question more often about The Miners Bathtub. Which is now gated after it killed too many visitors. Prehistoric fish are seen fresh up from that seemingly harmless depth.

Good question. I know of a year-around stone shaded pool within the Mojave. Which seemed to have unlimited depth. Livestock-pulled wood wagons hauled water barrels near..... and far. Flavored by miners who had bathed in the pool.
