Almost every hack videos you post I’ve already done including this one my father taught me. He was a carpenter and we would always fill striped out hinge screw holes with sawdust glue then drill new holes. I am a wood carver and use this for that as well. I keep all my sawdust.

You have to use a lighter amount of carpenter's glue to the sawdust. My grandfather worked at a piano manufacturer, and he taught me.

This is OK if you're not planning to stain the project your working on. The wood glue will not absorb stain and the repair will stand out.

Good effort and the right idea. However, there’s a much easier way to do this that also gives a better result. Kind of overthought it a little here and not even sure why you attempted using a broken sanding tool. But again…right idea just need some practice on the execution 👍

Right,. this was the first time attempting this approach and just turned the camera on. The broken sander was just for theater. It happened as I was attempting to insert the sand paper.

@@flannelguydiy6458 practice makes perfect. Once you nail it you’ll never look back and definitely never buy putty or wood filler again. It’s like magic.

@@alexreid4131 that is the idea, but what I found is this stuff was much stronger than traditional wood putty.

@@flannelguydiy6458 strength isn’t so important with filler but if by strength you mean harder then yes it dries much harder than filler. And of course using this method you can match your diy filler to the color of the work piece much more accurately than with bought filler.
