Dear Pail: I found your channel a week 9:57 watched all of your videos. I have six sons, the five are all career enlisted men, three soldiers, one sailor, one marine, and my youngest son, eho is 34 years old is at home with me. I am a registered nurse and am on disability due to leukemia. My ex husband is a Vietnam veteran who has bladder cancer. We are divorced, but on friendly terms, he helps our son, Eddie and me alot. My sailor, Brendan, is on an Ohio class boat missile technician. He is 37 years old. So you are dear to me; I tried to enter the navy, as my brothers were navy, early 60's were navy, but I had a heart condition, so I was refused, but always wished that I could have joined after high school. I learned your name when your Dad was flying with you. I so love the voice overs, it makes everything come to life. Ihave so much respect for you guys and ladies. I love the videos , my brothers were on the Intrepid. I live in Cleveland Ohio, on the shores of Lake Erie, a five minutes away from my house. Boy, how I wish that you could have come to Cleveland on Labor day, at our air show. We had the Blue Angels this year. I was afraid that you were not posting cause most of your videos were from a year ago...so happy to see this recent one! I will be waiting for the next awesome video. My Brendan is in Bremerton, Washington state. Pail, thank you for your service....so glad you haven't retired and are able to continue to bring us this glimpse of Navy life! Fly Navy! 💙

Had a good chuckle at about the 8:25 mark when you commented: " feeling a little tense". I never flew as a "Nasal Radiator" but honed my formation skills in another branch and having watched all your other videos this seems like the least tenseness inducing situation. I'm always impressed by your skills: my runways were always long, never pitched or rolled, and if things got bad there was usually another nearby. So thanks for taking us along for the great rides; thanks for your service; thanks for being a mere mortal and getting tense occasionally. Side note: half the airplanes I flew were originally built for the Navy/Marines so, for more than a year, I was able to experience very short landing rolls. Blue side up!

It's remarkable how well everything came together. I was over there a few days before, got some great photos of the ship and some landscapes surrounding the city. It was bright and sunny, with a layer of cumulus which always provides a great background, little to no haze which helps provide clarity and contrast. The fact that it happened in between two hurricanes and the fact that the ideal weather maintained itself for the entire week is also interesting. It's almost like the ship really did have an aura. Also got to photograph my first Apache, even though it was super cropped in.

As a veteran, I am so hooked on Growler Jam! It reminds me of my cousin who flew P-47s over Europe in WW2. When the war was over he stayed with the USAF rising to 3-star general before retiring. When I was a kid, he would regale me about all the fighters he flew in his career. So, many thanks, Pail. I'm almost 80 and love your vids. BTW, in 1966. when I was in training at Shepard AFB in Texas, my cousin flew in to visit me. Then, he took me to the flight line where he was showing off the differences between the old T-33 and the new T-38. When the T-38 took off into vertical, unrestricted climb, he told me, "I just bought a bunch of them" (he was a Brig. General at SAC at the time).
