I bought a Kel-Tec P32 back in 2011 when I was looking for a deep-conceal pocket piece, choosing it over the .380acp version for three reasons: ease of handling in fire, increased round capacity, and a last-shot slide-lock. Earlier this year, I saw my first "in-the-flesh" Seecamp in .32, though I have been familiar with them since the eighties. Intrigued, I got the pawn broker down to a price I liked and it came home with me. I've yet to shoot it, but I do enjoy having it in my "accumulation". I do not see it ever replacing the P32 for carry, though, as the latter is far lighter, holds more ammunition, is easier to handle (being a locked-breech design), and locks open the slide when emptied. The P32 usually backs up another Kel-Tec product, anyway (PF9) but, if it's ever carried as a primary someday, maybe Lugwig's little steel beauty will back it up. Oh, and at 2:30, you say it holds six rounds, "including one that can be loaded into the chamber." It's actually "in addition" to one in the chamber, making for a seven-round capacity. With a gun this small, I'd hate to see anyone shorting themselves any potentially-needed ammo. ;-)

You are very welcome. As I've often pointed out about the Seecamp 32, be aware that the proper 32 ammo for the Seecamp is not easy to find and expensive when you do. Fortunately I found 2 boxes of Winchester Silvertip last weekend at a local gun show, so it's not impossible. Also, you might consider the Seecamp 380 if you can find one. Brutal to shoot, but at least you can find ammo. Best wishes. Thanks for watching and if you haven't already, I hope you'll check out my other "Mick Mac" Tabletop Review videos on KZitem.

A very good review, I have owned a Seecamp .32 since the late 80's, everything this gentleman says about this fine weapon is true. I was on a waiting list for a while and had to pay a premium price when it became available, needless to say, money could not buy this gun from me. The ONLY time my SC is not with me is when I have to go thru a metal detector, (I try to avoid those) it is the perfect weapon to carry concealed in locations where guns may not be welcome or clothing choice (shorts etc.) may produce an imprint. I usually carry it in my right rear pocket (weak hand) as a backup to a Sig 239/9mm, which I carry in a cross-draw position on my right side. About the only thing I could add is, spare magazines are very hard to find, if you are lucky enough to find one, buy it! IMHO, you should always try to carry a spare magazine with any semi-auto carried for self-defense.

How reliable has the Seecamp been for you? I’m thinking about grabbing one in .32. I was going to get the .380 model but a lot of people say it has too many problems. What are your thoughts on the .380 model? Should I stick with .32?
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466

Since I didn't get the 380 model, I can't comment on its reliability. However, I did have a chance to shoot one and I thought it was a bit more brutal on the hand than the .32. As for reliability, I've carried my Seecamp .32 for a few years and regularly fire it on the range. I have had zero problems. It's an excellent, superbly made and finished little weapon. My personal philosophy regarding caliber is that I give more emphasis to shot placement (the gun and shooter's accuracy). As such, I have no problem with the .32 round. That being said, the cost and availability of the Winchester Silvertip rounds or other recommended ammo for the Seecamp .32 is its main drawback. Nonetheless, everything considered, I'll stick with my .32 version. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I have owned the LCP2 (sold it) the Khar 380 (whatever that is called) (sold it because it was entirely crap) and I used to carry a (special) Kimber micro .380 but the Seecamp is my carry for 3 years now and I own 3 of the Berretta Tom/Bobcat pistols. I would stay away from the 380, it was a redesign by the new company for purely $$$ reasons.

It's relieving to know somebody else appreciates .32 ACP. There is a lot of history with the .32 ACP. It saw extensive use during WWI. My only concern about the Seecamp is the ammo. I can't find a spare LW Seecamp magazine anywhere, even on Seecamp's website. All sold out. Okay, I did find one on eBay but the owner is asking $99 for it. Normal retail price is around $35. $99 is price gouging because the supply is scarce. I also cannot find any .32 hollow point ammunition anywhere to be had. I just purchased an expensive paperweight, a nice-looking one at that. I had known about the LW Seecamp from maybe the late 1980s, if my memory is correct. If not, then by the early 1990s. I read rave reviews about the Seecamp pistol then, but the same information. It was very expensive, difficult to find, and the waiting times were a year or more. At the time I didn't know that Walter Ludwig Seecamp was relying on a team of only seven master gunsmiths to handcraft each Seecamp pistol. I doubt these seven guys were working 12 hours shifts, seven days a week. More like, 8 hours a day, five days a week, with every conceivable state, federal holiday, plus all vacation time. Small wonder it took one year or more on a waiting list to buy a Seecamp. Normally you never see a used Seecamp pistol for sale in a gun store. The local gun store I purchased my shiny steel Seecamp pistol had a black, used Seecamp pistol in the glass counter case. That was a surprise. I'm surmise the owner maybe needed money seriously. I'm wondering if he had second thoughts about purchasing the black, .32 Seecamp pistol.

You pose an excellent question. The Seecamp is after all only a close-up "point & shoot" weapon. Usually I cover "range experience" and accuracy in my reviews, but the Seecamp 32 film was my first and I really didn't have my act together. I apologize that I didn't cover that issue better. As for hitting a target at 8 meters, that would depend on your skills, the size of the target and your confidence under the testing conditions. I have no problem hitting a center mass man-size target at that distance with my Seecamp. However, I've taken time to practice and develop and maintain my skills. Overcoming the long heavy trigger pull while maintaining your target can be a challenge. The Seecamp is my primary carry weapon, so it's critical that I'm comfortable with it in any condition. There are a number of shooting videos out there on the Seecamp that might be helpful as well. You'll see that it is possible to become a fairly good shot with it in spite of its size, its trigger and lack of sights. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Your question regarding the Seecamp 380's difficulty to shoot is one I've had a few times before. Since I don't own the 380 model, I can only say that the one time I did shoot one, it was very snappy. Actually, I believe I described it as "a bit more brutal on the hand than the .32." My personal philosophy regarding caliber is that I give more emphasis to shot placement (the gun and shooter's accuracy). As such, I have no problem with the .32 round. Now, I will say that it's also common to hear owners of the .32 wanting to get the 380 too. I can understand that, since the Seecamp is just such a finely designed and crafted firearm. No problem with their holding their value. As for the replacement of the spring on the 380 after 200 rounds, I can only go with the factory recommendation which is indeed to replace the spring ($5 from Seecamp). As I understand, the .32 was modified to create the 380, but the strain of the heavier load has shown up on the recoil spring which is why they recommend replacement. Hope this helped.

Good questions. Indeed, if the magazine is removed the slide will not move. So, in order to empty the firearm completely, you must eject the magazine and remove all rounds, then reinsert and rack the slide to eject the round in the chamber. Racking the slide is stiff, but isn't that difficult except that it's a small gun and getting a good grip can be more of the problem for me. There's no doubt that the Seecamp is robustly built and could handle a +P round. I believe the issue would be how well the rounds would feed. If you check out the Seecamp website at www.seecamp.com/ammunition.htm you will see an extensive discussion on ammunition as it relates to the Seecamp. As you may already know, the .32 was built around the Winchester Silvertip JHP 60 Grain round and there are important reasons why the ammo recommendations are limited. I would highly suggest adhering to these recommendations. As Seecamp states, it's more important to focus on shot placement than the size of the ballistic. A shot in the foot with a .44 is not as dramatic as a shot in a vital with a .22. Thanks for watching. @@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 Thanks for a great review. One thing to point out, the mag release on LCP is in the way, when I fully grip it, I tend to release the clip, and it gets jammed out. I have to hold thumb on my index finger to prevent the jam, which makes it kick even harder. It's not convenient to remove clip on seecamp, but it would DEFINITELY eliminate the issue. Any thoughts?

I agree. The position of the mag release button on the Ruger LCP is indeed a potential issue. I've experienced the same problem with the mag falling completely out of the gun. It was a matter of training to keep my thumb off that button. I did OK with it for quite a few years as my EDC. As for the inconvenience of the Seecamp's mag release, yep, it's a pain, but it eliminated that potential problem. Just one of the reasons I switched to the Seecamp as my primary EDC.

Never carry keys, change etc in the same pocket with a gun. That is dangerous.

That would be true for all pocket carry situations. And one more point while we're on the topic, never pocket carry without a holster. Would you agree? Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Problem is the Seecamp is almost impossible to find & EXTREAMLY expensive. So, the Ruger LCP 380 is effectively the best on the standard market that is available to most Americans. Seecamp is cool, but unfortunately it is a novelty to 99% of Americans. It is literally a fringe element pistol that is pretty much not available for the most part. Hence why the Ruger LCP 380 is the king in the tiny pocket pistols. S&W Bodyguard 380 doesn't count because it is larger than the Ruger LCP

Yep, and when you add in the impossible task of finding the proper ammo for this gun today, it doesn't really make sense. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. If you haven't already, I hope you'll check out my other "Mick Mac" Tabletop Review videos on KZitem.
