This song and the quote are indescribable. This movie was all I had at one point in my life. You grow up and no one cares about anything anymore and you are ridiculed and called immature if you care about anything.

I swear every time I hear this song I feel something I don’t know how to describe, like sadness but at the same time happiness. I remember when I was younger, my dad turned on polar express on the tv for the first time. The feeling I got when I first heard the music was amazing. Honestly to this day I still feel the same feeling I did on my first watch. I loved/love every second of the movie. The nostalgia hits me so hard. Once I woke up to polar express to the tv and this song was playing. It felt absolutely magical. I even watched this movie yesterday lol. it sucks that most people I talk to don’t remember this movie I’m glad that the people here (in the comments) do. It’s is such an amazing movie in my opinion and when I am much older and have kids I am going to show them this movie, maybe even make it Christmas tradition to watch it so they will love it too and hopefully have great memories with it as well. ❤

To me and I’m sure to a lot of us, this theme right here perfectly describes the true feeling of Christmas. The magic, the innocence… what I would do to experience this as a kid again

This song has always impacted me, even as a kid. This song gives me this feeling of utter sandness. Not because of anything negative, but because this movie/song was one of the biggest parts of my childhood, and that feeling that I felt when watching this movie in my childhood home. That overwhelmingly sad, nostalgic feeling, knowing that I'll never get that back. And how things now aren't necessarily bad, just different. Looking back on this as an adult is really something else.

Reminds me of all the last Christmas's I ever had as an innocent child when I was truly happy with my entire family before even realizing it was all coming to an end lost in time forever.

Christmas time kind of took on an entirely different meaning and feeling for me now that I'm older... As a kid, you see it as "the most wonderful time" and "the happiest season", but when you get older you realize that it can actually be a real *somber* time given the fact that it's at the very end of the year and you might of lost some loved ones during some time in the year and so you mostly think about the fact that you can't celebrate the holidays with them anymore...

This movie brings back so many memories as a kid. It does remind me of the simpler times before I lost my grandmother to Cancer and the innocent times I had before things got hard. As in present I am studying for the ASVAB and hoping to move out and start my life. This may remind me of the older times but always a good thing to look forward to my future ahead.

this is such a melancholic, haunting track, but at the same time it feels magical and serene. It's the perfect ambience setting for a Midwest Christmas Eve: sitting around the fire with your family while a dark, howling snowstorm blows across the Ohio plains.

This for some reason brings about a sense of loneliness and emptyness for the Polar Express which I didn't think was possible. Picture this: The hero kid gets back home with the bell only he can hear. Every Christmas he waits to see if the Polar Express will come back, but it never does. No rumbling, lights, or train horn. He wonders where his friends from that time are, and if they'll meet again. Years go by and he questions if it really did happen. He still hears the bell, but is it enough to convince him now? Seeing is believeing, but only he knows of the events that took place that Christmas. Maybe it was all a dream..? This song makes me feel an empty hope that one day the Polar Express will come back to him, kinda like how I wish I can sometimes go back and relive those Christmas memories over again.

I cant tell you how attached i am emotionally and physically to this movie. every bit of it, ever since i was small, this movie was what carried me, what kept my christmas spirit, and even getting my own version of the bell as a small kid. the music, moments, and sweet undertones always make me cry everytime i watch this. It reminds me of my childhood, and how the christmas spirit felt as a kid.... even now still at 23 i watch this movie yearly and still cry. it was and forever will be a masterpeice and apart of my heart. I still believe in christmas spirit and got a copy of the exact bell last year along with the punched "believe" ticket for christmas. Ive been putting it out and cherishing it. It makes me wanna go back to when i was a kid, and when life wasnt cold and hard. Ive watched it today and felt the same all over again, and this intro will always keep me going

I don't know why, but when I hear this song, I think about all the bad thoughts inside my head and I just calmly think and rest at peace, then reality breaks through and I remember family that have gone to the promised land, and I start to feel upset. I run to my truck, grab the keys, and put them in the center counsel, and just wait for the thought of sleep to take over. Surprisingly I did all of that last night, and I slept great, I felt at peace, and I felt lighter as a person.
