It's somewhat encouraging that the Saints lived lives of constant repentance. That is the ideal. There is no use in me trying to hide the truth from God when I have sinned. The devil will try to make us despair so that we will not pray, but this is a trick like all the tricks of the deceiver. God bless you for this video.

Ashley Scott before a priest, after you confess your sins it will be a big weight lifted off your shoulders. That’s the problem with protestant churches which have turned up last few centuries they don’t practice this sacrament which Christ gave the church in the first century.

Ashley Scott As soon as Jesus rose from the dead and earned salvation for us, he brought his apostles a new gift. After speaking peace to them, he said, “As the Father has sent me, even so I send you” (John 20:21). Just as Jesus was sent by the Father to reconcile the world to God, Jesus sent the apostles to continue his mission. Jesus then breathed on the apostles. This is a verse that is often passed over, but it has extraordinary significance because it is only the second time in all of Scripture where God breathes on anyone. The other instance was at the moment of creation, when God breathed his own life into the nostrils of Adam. This should tell us that something of great importance is taking place. Upon doing this, Jesus said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained” (John 20:22-23).

Thank-you for this video Father. Self accusation is something I don’t do enough of. The truth is I’m in a foreign country and far from church and my Christian life has crumbled. Trying to piece it back together but I have this looming feeling of being an imposter. Alcohol, tobacco and online smut have made me a disgrace. If you have any advice for a wayward layman like myself I would welcome it dearly.

St Anthony the Great used to say "Every day i say to myself, today I will begin." Take this new day as an opportunity as a fresh start. When we are uprooted it is easy for the good patterns of our life to be lost. My advice would be to start with something simple that you can maintain, and not anything that you will fail at. A simple, regular time of prayer, even if it is only once each day for ten or fifteen minutes. make it a priority that nothing will interrupt. Be patient, God will not ignore your efforts. As for online pornography, try placing a small icon card in the corner of your computer screen. Every time you switch it on say a quick prayer while it starts. God bless you, do not lose heart.

J.C. Ryle 📖 Holiness 🙏 Its Nature, Hindrances, Difficulties, and Roots 📖 page 190-92 (C) Assurance is to be desired, because it tends to make a Christian ✝️ a decided Christian ✝️. Indecision and doubt about our own state in God’s sight is a grievous evil, and the mother(Bad Choice of words, IMHO) of many evils. It often produces a wavering and unstable walk in following the Lord. Assurance helps to cut many a knot, and to make the path of Christian ✝️ duty clear and plain. Many, of whom we feel hopes that they are God’s children, and have a true grace, however weak, are continually perplexed with doubts on points of practice. “Should we do such and such a thing? Shall we give up this family custom? Ought we go into that company? How shall we draw the line about friendships? What is to be the measure of our dressing and entertainments? Are we never, under any circumstances, to dance, never to touch a card, never to attend parties of pleasure?” These are the kind of questions which seem to give them constant trouble. And often, very often, the simple root of their perplexity is that they do not feel assured they are themselves children of God. They have not yet settled the point which side of the gate they are on. They do not know whether they are inside the ark or not! That child of God ought to act in a certain decided way, they quite feel; but the grand question is, “Are they children of God themselves?” If they only felt they were so, they would go straightforward and take a decided line. But not feeling sure about it, their conscience is forever hesitating and coming to a dead lock. The devil whispers, “Perhaps after all, you are only a hypocrite; what right have you to take a decided course? Wait until you are really a Christian ✝️.” And this whisper too often turns the scale and leads on to some miserable compromise or wretched conformity to the world! I believe we have here one chief reason why so many in this day are inconsistent, trimming, unsatisfactory, and half-hearted in their conduct about the world. They feel no assurance that they are Christ’s, and so feel a hesitancy about breaking with the world. They shrink from laying aside all the ways of the old man because they are not quite confident they have put on the new. In short, I have little doubt that one secret cause of “halting between two opinions” is lack of assurance. When people can say decidedly, “The Lord, He is the God,” their course becomes very clear (1 Kings 18:36-39 King James Version 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.) (D) Assurance is to be desired, because it tends to make the holiest Christians. This, too, sounds incredible and strange, and yet it is true. It is one of the paradoxes of the gospel, contrary at first sight to reason and common sense, and yet it it is a fact. He who is freely forgiven by Christ will always do much for Christ’s Glory; and he who enjoys the fullest assurance of this forgiveness will ordinarily keep up the closest walk with God. It is a faithful saying and worthy to be remembered by all believers: “He who has hope in Him✝️ purifies himself, even as He✝️ is pure” (King James Version 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.). A hope that does not purify is a mockery, a delusion, and a snare! None are so likely to maintain a watchful guard over their own hearts 💕 and lives as those who know the comfort of living in close communion with God. They feel their privilege and will fear losing it. They will dread falling from the high estate, and marring their own comforts, by bringing clouds between themselves and Christ. He who goes on a journey with little money, takes little thought of danger and cares little how late he travels. He, on the contrary, that carries gold and jewel, will be a cautious traveler. He will look well to his roads, his lodgings and his company, and run no risks. It is am old saying, however unscientific it may be, that the fixed stars are are those which tremble most. The man that most fully enjoys the light of God’s reconciled countenance, will be a man tremblingly afraid of losing its blessed consolations and jealously fearful of doing anything to grieve the Holy Spirit.
I am going to look at the link. We are not to be 'lukewarm', but we must watch out for pride, it is a ruination. Your words make sense, but the need to be continually repentant also seems very necessary. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it has been there for a year now, and likely more than just I have read it! Love!

@@noway165 indeed… Pride is a killer. Be sure to ONLY boast in the Lord Jesus Christ. There are many verses to hold up this Bible Truth. We MUST be Holy Spirit led in all ways and always. Prayer is the Lifeline. Yielding to the Holy Spirit is Life-essential (being quick to obey, quick to forgive, quick to repent). Jeremiah 9:23-24 King James Version 23 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
