Title: 銀河の伝説(Legend of galaxy) Composer: 福島和弘 (Fukushima Kazuhiro) You can see also they play in All japan marching contest: kzitem.info/news/bejne/qYCKnKSjpamjdII This is not Legends of the Galaxy by Chandler Wilson. This piece was originally composed for Seika Girls high school.
The Japanese have always been a superior people with a superior culture. Their high school bands are just one more evidence of it. So much self-discipline and sacrifice is needed to perform at this level. In America, our high school kids aren't all that great at doing anything creative and useful, but they're the best in the world at managing Facebook and Twitter and bringing artificiality to our declining nation.

Wait a minute! Wait a minute! Seika is no doubt one of the very finest bands in the world. But, having set through hundreds of band rehearsals in my high school years I can never remember going though a piece in any rehearsal without the director stopping somewhere along the way for corrections, directions, etc., etc. Now it could be that Seika plays perfectly to the director's satisfaction every time they sit down to rehearse but I doubt, This looks more like a suggestion from the band to the world: "See how very good we are, A band this fine needs more rehearsal space." They did a great job with that but I was looking forward to seeing a working rehearsal . And, they do need more space. God bless 'em.

So you're telling us that the only time your band ever played a piece start to finish was at the actual concert or contest? I find that to be extremely odd!

@@philipmay3548 No, it is odd that something labeled "Rehearsal" would be played through w/o instruction or comment by the director. That's what rehearsal is all about. But, let's not split hairs - Seika is a great band - - - and they do need more space in their band hall.

@@lancejones8073 Lance, this is not splitting hairs. You are seriously misinformed about rehearsals. I called out your obvious silliness, and you responded "let's not split hairs". Full runs are a necessary part of rehearsal. At the end of the clip, he is starting to address the band and give feedback for what they just did, but the person recording stopped it at that point. You really have no idea what you're talking about. Sorry to be blunt.

@@philipmay3548 I totally understand "full run" rehearsals. They are usually done after hours more tedious rehearsals. Even in these "dress" rehearsals, a director will often stop for correction. Like I said, I would like to have seen more of a working rehearsal. To be blunt, I do know what I'm talking about. Thanks

@@lancejones8073 Well, Lance, best to you. I don't think you know what you're talking about. You're trashing one of the top bands in Japan for doing a full run, something your original comment claimed never, ever happens. Obviously, you're intimidated by them, so you trash them. Sad for you. Seika, for about a decade, was the top band in Japan, both on the marching field and in concert. They know what they're doing, and they're not changing their ways to show off and intimidate you.
Awesome sound! Is that a piccolo trumpet at 4:25? I haven't seen those too often.

銀河の伝説 (Ginga no Densetsu) - translates to "Galactic Legend" or "Legend of Galaxy(ies)" by Hirokazu Fukushima. The piece isn't published (manuscript only) so you'd have to contact the composer directly to get performance rights if you were wanting your band to do it.
