This short video describes a method of measuring the amplitude of an electronic balance-driven watch movement. This approach will work for any mechanical watch movement but has particular use in those cases where a conventional timegrapher timing machine fails to provide a correct amplitude reading (as was the case with the two Seiko 3700 series movements described in the post linked below).
The movement shown here is a 37A transistorized electronic balance-driven movement used in the EL-370 series of electronic watches that Seiko produced from about 1968 to 1972. This particular movement dates from January 1971 and following service is running like a train!
