One of the best Tuna variations I've seen. I must say that while I put Hexad bracelets on mine, the stock rubber strap is the most comfortable of any I've worn. Thanks for the review.

Nice one Rob. That Hexad bracelet is nice, but for me, I feel that the MM300 bracelet suits it more, and I don’t mind the ratchet clasp. Looks and feels great.

The Tuna is cool and this one is really cool; I love the splashes of red. It is amazing how well the Tuna fits on wrist but there is no denying that it is a big watch. It looks awesome on the Strapcode bracelet. Thank you for another great video :)

@Random Rob This is an awesome-looking watch! Yes, an older video, I know.. I recently purchased the SNE543, which I guess is the (or "a") small brother to this model. Although I've gotten into watches due to my curiosity and taste for mechanical autos.. I have to say, it has become one of the watches that has the most wrist time. I actually appreciate the fact that it's solar and I don't need to open it. I also have smaller wrists @ 6 1/2 inches.. give or take.. and I find the tuna design is really great. I often see G-Shocks I like, but that would be impossible for me to wear because the lug-to-lug is just way too big. My SNE543 is pretty much an analog solar "g-shock" that fits like a glove. But I have to say, this model you are showing here is really special. I really like the contrasts they offer in the bezel and the colors they chose. I hate sounding like a fanboy, but I've really fallen in love with many of the Seiko releases in the last couple years.

Wow. This is definitely one of peices that shows how seiko can make a beastly watch truly a peice of art, would immediately get one if they weren't so pricey. Shame.

The quality and capability of this watch probably merits the price, but it’s still fun to complain about pricing anyway. Love the blue coin edge on the bezel.

I love my SBBN033. Bout it like new condition, in box with stock rubber and Hexad bracelet for $750. I will say the complete lack of color is both bold and bad. But I love the pops of red on the PADI.

I have this professional diver. It's not only suitable for saturation diving, it's also great looking. I have also ordered for the latest LX, also certified for saturation diving, a professional diver, this time, does not require helium bec of the way it's designed. Interesting innovation. Ken okuyama, my man, that's indeed a Ferrari of a watch. The 5R65 is also Zaratsu polished like the exterior. This one tops the earlier marinemaster, for sure. Time to let go of my hulk, batman and daytona.

I'm pretty sure real saturation divers don't wear watches while wearing the huge suits that they wear while diving. Never less those tunas are really cool watches and wear smaller then their dimensions would suggest.

Definitely reapply loctite, or a little nail polish to that bracelet screw. I've owned a half dozen strap-code bracelets with no problems. I bought the Hexiad bracelet (exact same model as yours) and I've lost two screws in a year. Just thankful I was on grass or in bed when the screws decided to back out on me. I now do the same to all the screw/pins on my bracelets as a precaution (just a little dab will do).

Sometimes you have to do a little research. The original Tuna was automatic, but after using it, the saturation divers for whom it was specifically designed asked Seiko to make it in quartz because that was sturdier and better suited to their needs. And so Seiko developed a killer quartz movement for the second version of the Tuna. You may like automatic better (I know I do), but that doesn’t mean it always IS better.
@alexandruc.5647

@@patrickh9937 The only big advantage that a mechanical has over quartz, is that it can be serviced, thus it can last forever. Quartz in general, if it breaks, you're better of buying another watch. That's pretty much the only advantage of a mechanical over quartz, but with the 7c46 inside the Tuna, that upperhand is lost as well, since Seiko made this movement serviceable 🙂.
@23727bgk

@@patrickh9937 Whatever the excuse given by Seiko is, most every other high end dive watch is NOT quartz. It's just not smart to open up watches to replace batteries and expect them to still function reliably in deep water.
