The refs are horrible in general. They cost kharchla the match or a chance to win match. Calling a ticky tac hands to face. It wasnt even straight on. I’m not going to get into the stalling. It goes both ways with the refs.
@RockyHillGuy
Жыл бұрын
I generally think the referees do a good job but i agree with you about the officiating in this dual. It seemed to me that the referee was overly involved in controlling the pace of multiple matches when it wasn't necessary. I really took issue with some of the stall calls... as well as the huge mistake you mention in the 174 match when he refused to overturn his call when the brick came in about the illegal return to the mat. That was an awful call. I'm glad Carter Starocci wasn't injured. Tom Ryan needs to spend some time reviewing that situation before any of his athletes get injured in practice, or injure a competitor.

Penn State wrestled 3 dual meets in one week, and yet they only lost 2 matches last night. You would think they might have lost a bit of focus and energy, but they have not. Sanderson is prepping this team for the post-season. They will be ready in March to contend for another championship.
@zaynes5094
Жыл бұрын
@George Sealy With their guys from 133 to heavyweight they've got a HUGE amount of Bonus point opportunities in that and the BIG10s coming up here to see who will qualify. I know Beau Bartlett lost at 141 against the Iowa Real Woods but I think he can get him back. Even though they lost 141 to 165, they all lost only by 1 point each match. The next few matches I think Cael will look to get those redshirt freshman from 149 to 165 ready with making those little adjustments for the big one and man I'm excited. I just hope that they don't screw over Beau Bartlett's seeding like they did last season at 141. What they should've done was had Nick Lee move up to 149 and had Beau Bartlett stay at 141, but instead they had Beau bump up and he was a really small 149. He looked undersized and really not that strong in the NCAA championship. I feel like it will be Beau and Van Ness who are the sleepers at 141 and 49 for PSU. We know RBY, Dean, and Starocci will do their thing, but Van Ness, Bartlett, Facundo (barring he stays healthy doesn't get hurt), and especially Levi Haines all could be looking at something serious in the next few weeks. We could see PSU winning the championship within the first 3 days and even before the finals locking it up. But Iowa is also right there and so is Nebraska. Missouri. Oklahoma State might be top 5 again.

8:30 Shane, there are 2 areas I would try to improve on if I were RBY, and he's already so good that it's easy to neglect these. The first is his work on top - he can ride, he can even do tilts a little, but his MO on top is "cut you so I can take you down again." He never works for a fall. The second is his upper body stuff, Greco-Roman style. If he wants to transition to international after his college career, he can't just counter or avoid it, he has to have his own comfort moves.
