Excellent video, but I just wanted to ask about one point. The way you intially define selection seemed to unintentionally reinforce the common misconception that "fittest" in natural selection means "stronger, faster, smarter", when "fitness', as I'm sure you know, only means best suited to environment. The "fittest" can be the smallest, slowest(perhaps because of lower energy needs) or any attribute that allows an organism to better fit its environment. I only bring it up because I encounter a seemingly never ending parade of Young Earth Creationists, and even more than a few people who accept and support science, like evoluton theory, but aren't really educated in science, claimin g that fittest means only "strongest. fastest smartest" or even just "mostphysically fit", and equate it with eugenics. Anyways, as I said, great video!
Thanks very interesting.Gonna have biology and that theme tommoro i hope that i understood well)Translate in russian what you saying not the easiest thing tho)

Male choose their partner in human (I choose my wife) . Why is sexual selection always female base?
@fortytwo6257

Females need to put more energy into raising young so the stakes are higher for them. They have a limited number of offspring they can have where men effectively don't, so they will be choosier about mates

Great video. Is it fair to say that intrasexual selection is form of ‘female choice’ selection though? It would seem that female preference is irrelevant in this form of mating - those that succeed in passing on their genes are merely the most physically dominant male specimens able to subdue their male sexual rivals. Thoughts?
