Tay H in court, often times kids will go to the mother. This is because there is a track record of guys being abusive in a relationship, so often times guys will be seen as second class parents. Kinda like how women are always seen as hyper emotional when that is not the case for most women. So, because of this idea, most of the times when talking about an abusive relationship, people hear the word and assume that it’s happening to the girl and that’s why men are treated unfairly in a court case. This song finally talks about what it’s like for a guy to be in a abusive relationship.

I know your comment is two years old, but having lived this song too many times...I want to leave a reply for other people who may be thinking as you do. If you wonder what keeps men in a relationship like this? Just listen to the verse with "Late at night, she knocks on my door..." Like he says, "Now, I know, I should say no..." But "its kinda hard when she's ready to go." The sad, hard truth? Many men love sex more than they love themselves.
@bespectacledheroine7292
Жыл бұрын
@@Joseph-yt4ir With all due respect I think it's selling men short to pinpoint sex as the sole reason. It's definitely one part of it, but whether paid for or not it's easier than ever to get sex nowadays. People don't need these toxic relationships anymore if that's the goal. I believe people like this stay because they think it's what they deserve, so much more the not loving yourself side of it than just loving sex. Almost like a masochistic penance. I am very sorry to hear you relate directly. I have poor self-esteem myself but it more so manifests in sabotaging my chance at relationships, rather than keeping me in a bad one. But as miserable as I've felt I wouldn't really say it's as bad as what you and others have gone through. Take care. 🙏

It opens eyes that were widely closed. It contrasts the pride that drives you through life and that resignation that restricts to act because youre too proud from pain. Every day I wake up amongst dummies and I try to blend in rather than to change the world like I used to. I think that past and pain I feel are what hold me up. That is why pride is first amongst the sins. Because of the numbness and acceptance it triggers, while I used to like to smile from problems and kind of accepted them as life... And not something against it, you know what Im sayin?

You mean bring back rap etc...? There was a lot of good stuff back then, I'm a 90's kid and my favourite bands are from the 90's, but those bands are mostly still around... I don't really care if they're not as popular as they once were. There was also plenty of crap back then, let's not forget that, there was and always will be... But there's still good stuff around too, you just can't rely on what the media feeds you.

To be fair, when most people say that they're referring to the celebrity type of love and sex where it's all incredibly superficial and unrelatable unless you live in a movie. This genre when dealing with sex and love are about the real problems that one of the band members has gone through, which makes it much more enjoyable if you actually give a fuck about decent music

I've always liked this song but it was only recently that I could somewhat connect to its' message. A friend of mine quoted the lyric "The more you suffer, the more it means you really care". I came back and listened to this song afterward and everytime I think about this song I think about the past year or so of my life. There was a girl I liked who told me she liked me and we talked everyday. For the first time in years I had a semblance of self esteem. I moved back to my home state to ask her out and she got with somebody else instead. I could go into more detail but basically, she kept saying she liked me and wanted to hang out and even go out with me if she wasn't dating but I was treated more as an online therapist than anything else. Now whenever I hear this song, I think of her.
