This is a great video but is there a solution to fix the problem? Do I add the hostname as a referral exclusion?

Depends on what you wanna achieve

@@DataDrivenU, my domain is showing up as referral traffic, along with a few other cross-domains. I have cross-domain tracking set up and think the traffic is coming from an external embed that we cannot put GA on.

Thanks for the information. Is there any way to override this problem using Tag Manager? Perhaps forcing the ignore_referrer value to false o null.

I tried this now i.e. setting ignore_referrer to false for the page view event via GTM, but analytics still overrides the ignore_referrer value to true. Any other ideas or solution?@@DataDrivenU

I see that your main domain is showing up in the referral traffic but for me, both main and subdomains are not showing up in the referral traffic. Any idea on the fix and why my main domain isn't showing in the referral traffic like yours?

I explain why our main domain is showing in referrals at 7m30s timestamp (it's a bug, you don't want it:)

If your numbers are skewed a bit...it's due to me watching it over and over again.
