Biggest regret is my GameCube games and Pokemon Sapphire/Leafgreen. I sold Super Smash and Pokemon Stadium 2 to GameStop right before the huge increase which kinda hurts but at the time I thought “it’s been out for decades, how could the price ever increase?”😅 I had poor cousins that I’d give video games to but unfortunately they would sell those games for drugs so I learned it’s better sometimes not to give people things they don’t actually appreciate.

You always gotta purge every now and then, but don’t sleep on gifts to other collectors. I’ve hooked so many people up with cheap Wiis or rom emulators and it always makes me happy hearing their 4 year old son started playing something and now is hooked. Just remember to catalog everything, it’s always annoying when you can’t find something and you don’t remember if you got rid of it

Absolutely! I have 2 build a bear pokemon plush and a sealed package of mario kart hotwheels that is on a shelf that my 7 yr old son is NOT allowed to have yet (he has some very well loved duplicates). My husband and I are doing this for him out of personal experience of not having our toys from childhood that we really wish we still had (star wars figures, KITT from Knight Rider, He-Man figures, the original 1983 Cabbage Patch Kids..which I used to own about 13 of them!). We're hoping to save him alot of heartache...and if he grows and doesn't want them, I'm keeping them!

My biggest regret is around 2001 I traded in my entire super Nintendo collection over 250 to 300 games with the console to game crazy to get PlayStation 2 stuff. That Super Nintendo was my very first console I ever got Christmas morning when I was a little kid and I look back on it now kicking myself for literally giving that stuff away for practically nothing in trade in credit. I did that a lot growing up I would always trade in the old stuff for the new stuff and I wish I would’ve kept it all because re-buying your childhood is extremely expensive and I really wanna share those things with my kids but at what cost 😂

My biggest regret when I downsized my collection about 6 years ago would have to be Pokemon Box for GameCube. I had it with memory card, stickers, manual, case, GBA cable, and the big outer cardboard box. Luckily, I didn't sell it to just anybody. I traded it to a buddy of mine that still has it. $600 trade value is what I got for it. It's about 6-10 times that much nowadays for the complete package.

@@pluspixel When I bought a house in 2011, all the forums were saying the bubble was about to pop, so I sold 95% of my collection, I had a spreadsheet on my old computer, and around 2019 I recalculated it, and a few of the CIB games are now worth what I got out of the entire collection. The rough part is that collection was picked up from 2002-2011 when I was the only person in 3 or 4 counties that cared about older games, now everyone and their grandma is out searching for stuff.
