Cübbenizi üzerinizden kim aldı! Bu ithamlar size bilinçli olarak mı yapıldı!
Bir gün yeniden göreve dönecek misiniz!
Başınıza gelenler size ne hissettirdi! Otoriteye itaat edebilen bir yapınız var mı!
İnsanlar sizi çok seviyor, neden!!
Teacher, you cannot perform the duty of imamate that you love so much. Are you upset about this?
I was very upset in the first days, but as I regained my freedom, I saw that I became an imam more easily. I used to be in a mosque, now I am an imam all over the world. For this, the imam should be free and comfortable, both economically and administratively. When he experiences this feeling in his inner world, his stance in the mihrab, his recitation in the imamate and the determination in the imamate become much more effective. So now I am not upset at all.
Why don't you do your duty as an imam now?
After 16 years of being an imam, after graduating from theology, business administration and mufti school, I preferred to work as an imam in a mosque rather than working in the upper levels. An investigation was launched for alleged embezzlement of one thousand lira from the money collected for Friday prayers at the Tophane Kılıç Ali Pasha Mosque. An investigation has been opened on all those who have opened an investigation against me. They are currently wanted around the world with a red notice. But I have been acquitted. With this acquittal, they gave me the freedom to be a free imam. I would like to thank all those who complained about me and made false statements. I say this from the heart. Since they opened the way for me to a completely different world, the money collected for Friday prayers was not even a thousand liras most of the time. I don't know what we would give for the money we didn't have. What could we have? Moreover, my congregation agreed on this point. Not a single one of them was from the mosque community and said that he received it in this regard. As it is clear that the complainant is a professional fraudster and that there are courts in this sense, when I look back, my mind is in peace.
Were these accusations made against you deliberately?
Of course, such accusations were made against the Prophet, the prophets, the imams before me and the people who came to the fore and became distinguished among the people. They were expelled from their lands and sent from their mosques. To give an example, one day they took the imam of the Blue Mosque, Gönenli Mehmet Efendi, to the police station. Teacher, where do you get this money? At that time, a policeman came to the station. Sir, are you here? When I was searching in the sky, I found you on the ground. And he gave the money by saying that Ahmet Efendi sent that money from Grand Bazaar, Gönenli Mehmet Efendi turned to Commissioner and said, "Sir, this is exactly how it is, they bring it to us unintentionally because I have a requester." We have the quality of trying to be a cure for people's problems in the mosque and the community. We are the imam, we are not the prayer-leading officer who leads the prayer in the mosque at the exact time of prayer. I respect all my fellow imams. They say what the teachers are doing, but the teachers take the pulse of the people. They are busy with unseen troubles and people often have financial difficulties. To whom should they go? If they go to the bank, they will ask for the money back with interest. If they go to the mafia, the price of the money they get will be heavy. They can't go to their friend, they don't have it either. They come to the teacher, and we listen to people's problems and try to find a cure for their problems. Therefore, the imamate is not what it seems from the outside. May Allah help my colleagues, I can say that I am much more satisfied with my current situation.
Will you come back to your duty one day?
I hope we will come to much better missions. By the way, duty is not only done in office. The task is always executed. After leaving the imamate in the mosque, I started to lead prayers all over the world. I was a person who didn't fit in my mold anyway, even when I was in the mosque, reading sermons in several languages, dealing with foreign guests and students may have broken the mold. But we were born and raised among the people and we have to meet people's problems and answer them in their own language. Our Prophet praises those who learn and teach other languages. In pioneer services, just like in the Ottoman Empire, you have to learn and address the people's language in order to conquer their hearts. I still think that I am on duty and I have full faith that one day I will definitely return to my original duty.
