Thank you Dr. O, your video was informative and simply put. I'm on week 3 of Mounjaro, 8lbs down. Side effects have been manageable. I'm happy I tried it!!

Hi Dr. O. My doctor started me at the 0.5mg dose, totally bypassing the starting dose of 0.25. I am 5’2 226 lbs. morbidly obese, pre-diabetic on the cusp of diabetes type 2, and recently diagnosed with Hashimotos. I am hoping this wegovy helps. A little scared to start at 0.5 but since it’s been prescribed by my doctor I will trust his knowledge.

Hi Porte! Thank you for your comment. I think that it is wonderful that you have such trust in your doctor. While I do not know him/her/them, I presume that you are bypassing the lower starting dose for good reason. And hopefully you were advised that you may have nausea or vomiting, especially at a high starting dose. Just be prepared and continue to have open communication with your doctor. Also, there is always the option of going down to the lower dose. I wish you all the best on your journey!!

I've been on Ozempic for one month. It has helped improve my blood sugar levels, but has absolutely stalled my weight loss. I was losing about 2 pounds per week through healthful eating and exercise for about two months prior. My prescriber recently increased the dose because he thought my blood sugar levels could be better. Hopefully I'll start losing weight again.

Hello and thank you for your comments! It is frustrating when you start the program and you see no real weight loss. The key, however, is are you getting a decrease in your appetite. If you are, then the weight loss is sure to follow. In my video, remember my section on fibrous fat? This may explain why you do not see changes on the scale yet. I am so happy to know that you have incorporated healthy eating and exercise into your weight loss journey. I wish you all the best and much success!

I started on ozempic and it was working awsome but then it seemed to stop working. I went up in my dose to 2 ml and I’m not sure if that made a difference yet …

my doctor just took me off semaglutide because of elevated pancreatic enzymes, I'm pissed

Hi. I am really sorry to hear about the elevation in your pancreatic enzymes. I gather that after your doctor ruled out other possibilities, it was felt that the elevation was likely due to being on these weight-loss medicines. And while not a common side effect (particularly in non-diabetics), this is certainly a possible side effect, and the medicines, of course, must be discontinued. I wish I could offer you more support. Best wishes.
